Maggie's p.o.v

Conrad is waving to me like I'm his friend or something. Why am I bushing over that. I find myself waving back to him with a small smile.

Then he puts his hand on his friends shoulder and leans in closer to him to say something over the loud music that's playing. His friend nods and gives him one of those bro taps on the back before Conrad starts to make his way closer to me.

I take a deep breath before he gets to me to try and calm my nerves of talking to the pretty boy from biology class. He finally makes his way over to me and I turn more towards him. "Hey Maggie, I didn't know you came to these parties." He said to me with a little bit of a laugh.

"I haven't really been to any parties yet but my roommate Emma really wanted me to come tonight." I say to him as I point back to Emma who's still chatting with Gavin. Plus they somehow already have drinks in their hands.

Once I point back to Emma she notices I'm talking to someone else and I guess Gavin and Conrad know each other because they exchange hellos with the little bro handshake thing boys do.

"So who's this Mags?" Emma asks.

"This is Conrad he's my partner for the biology project I was telling you about." I answer her question.

"Well it's nice to meet you Conrad. So do you like have a girlfriend?" Emma asks.

Emma always has to be flirting with the guys. Usually I wouldn't really care but I do want to know what Conrad's answer is.

"No I don't." Conrad says as he laughs off the question. "Anyways do you want to get a drink Maggie?" Conrad turns his attention back to me.

"Um...Yeah sounds good. I'll catch up with you in a bit Em" I say then follow Conrad to the other side of the kitchen to grab a cup and get a drink. Once I get the cup I turn to the bottles of various shades of brown and clear.

"So do you like vodka, tequila, whiskey?" Conrad asks. Truth be told I don't really know. I don't really drink much. I've never been against it I just really haven't had the opportunity to.

I make my best guess "tequila." I say and he nods at my answer takes my cup, pours about half of the cup full of tequila then grabs a bottle of juice and fills the rest of the cup with that then hands it back to me. "Thanks." I say to him as I take the cup from him.

"Yeah so do you wanna go out back with me? It's a little loud in here." He asks me.

"Yea sure." I say back to him. Then I follow him through the house to the back with my red cup in my hand. I try and take a sip. The liquid burns the back of my throat. We make it out to the backyard theres a couple people out here but not nearly as many as were inside. I can still hear the music from inside but it sounds kind of muffled. He walks down the back steps of the house and there's like a little swing bench thing he sits down on. I sit next to him but still leaving plenty of space between us.

"So where are you from?" he asks me.

"Philadelphia. How about you?" I respond and ask the same question back.

"A small town in Massachusetts." He responds as he takes another sip of his drink.

We continue to ask the basic question to eachother as we sip on our drinks. Small laughs escape both of our lips here and there.

"So..." he starts "since you know about me not having a girlfriend because of your friend Emma, I think it's only fair I ask you if you have a boyfriend." As soon as the words left his mouth I felt my cheeks heating up again. I can't tell if it's from the drink or from what he said but it's probably from what he said.

"No...no I don't have a boyfriend." I say back to him with a smile.

"Good." He says back to me. Then he gets up and says "I think I need more drink do you want to come with me."

"Yeah I could use a little more too." I say as I follow him back into the house to get another drink.

When we get back into the kitchen where all of the drinks are I still see Emma talking with Gavin. I wonder if she likes him or something. Then they spot us and come over to us. It's clear they had a lot more to drink than we did. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't feeling the alcohol by now. Gavin talks to Conrad about something before Gavin grabs my cup and fills it almost all the at up with tequila and just a splash of juice on top. Conrad's eyes get bigger as he watches Gavin hand back my cup to me. Conrad then fills his cup up with only a little bit of some brown liquor and some coke.

Conrad and I eventually make our way back outside back to the swing bench. Before I knew it I had finished the drink and I was definitely feeling it.
