Stay With You // Conrad Fisher

Chapter 22

Maggie's p.o.v. 

       The next few days with Conrad were like a breath of fresh air. I felt like I could actually breathe again, like some way everything was going to work out the way it was suppose to. 

     Emma was coming back to school today so I decided to wait for her in our room so someone would be there to greet her when she gets back. Eventually, after scrolling through my phone for far too long I hear the sound of keys trying to open the door and I know it must be Emma. My thoughts are confirmed when I see her walk in with her Vera Bradly duffel bag over her shoulders. 

     "Mags I am so happy to see you, you have no idea." She said as she threw her bag onto her bed. 

      "I'm happy to see you too. How is everything?" I ask as I hop off my bed to give her a hug. 

      "ugh..don't even get me started." as she hugs me back. She pulls back "So...What did I miss? How's everything with Connie baby?" she teases. 

       I feel my face get hot. I couldn't help but stifle a google at her question. 

       Emma playfully shoved my shoulder. 

        "Ouch...What was that for?" I asked her while playfully rubbing my arm where she shoved me.

       "Oh My God! You hooked up with him? And you didn't tell me!" She exclaimed. 

       "I never said that." I slyly said back. 

       "You didn't have to...it's written all over your face." she said. "So how was it?" she pressed. 

       "Emma you can't tell anyone." I told her before proceeding. 

       "I won't...now spill" she pushed. 

       "Well he asked me to be his girlfriend...and it-it was really good." I said starting to look down at my hands. 

       "Aw... Mags I'm so happy for you!" she pulled me back into a hug. 

       "Thanks I think?" I giggled and hugged her back. 

       We spent the next few hours catching up and it felt nice to have Emma back.

       Later that night Emma and I decided we should grab dinner and invite Conrad and Gavin to come along with us. 

       We decided to go to a small cafe only a block or two off campus. We all ended up getting some form of soup and sandwich. We chatted among ourselves until the food arrived. 

       Once the food arrived Emma spoke up, "Oh guys I almost forgot, my dad has a bunch of extra miles for some airline and we own a bunch of airbnbs and he was wondering if we wanted to go up there over Thanksgiving break." before she went to take a bite of her sandwich. 

      I took a moment to think about the date, Thanksgiving break starts in only 3 weeks, I didn't think that much time had gone by already. truthfully as much as going home for Thanksgiving would be nice my family doesn't really stick around for holidays anyway. 

      Gavin spoke up first "Hell yeah baby! I'm down for a trip to New York." well I guess we know where he stands on this question. "Con?" he asked looking at Conrad. 

       I knew Conrad didn't want to go home this year for Thanksgiving. Things at home are not exactly easy.  

      "Fuck it." He said before Gavin and him did one of their bro handshake things. 

       "Mags?" Emma asked me waiting for my answer.

       "Let's do it." I smile. 

     "Great! I'll let my dad know so he could get everything together." Emma said in response. 

      We spent the rest of our dinner talking about some travel details for our upcoming trip. When we were done with dinner the boys paid for us and we made our way over to me and Emmas dorm. 

      Conrad and I were sitting on my bed while Emma and Gavin were sitting on Emmas bed. We spent the next hour or so talking amongst ourselves and making more plans for our trip to New York. 

      Eventually, it was time for the boys to head out. Before they could go Conrad pulled me to the side "I'm excited about our trip." he smiled. 

     "Me too." I smiled back 

     "I'll see you tomorrow Mags." he said lowly before pulling me into a hug and kissed my cheek. "I'll miss you." he whispered before pulling back and walking towards the door where Gavin was walking out. 

      That boy never fails to give me butterflies.
