Kneeling before the majestic black wolf, she gazed into his eyes with a twinkle in her own, a stark contrast to the fiery glint in his. He stood tall on all fours, his presence looming over her small figure. With her head held high, she studied him closely, noticing a small patch of white beneath his neck that formed a mysterious shape in the darkness. It was a striking contrast against his sleek black fur.
As he approached her, his eyes bore into her, exuding a sense of danger and intimidation. Despite his menacing demeanor, she remained unfazed, her own gaze unwavering. The wolf was intrigued by her lack of fear, his curiosity piqued. Who was this fearless woman who stood before him, unafraid and unyielding?
The question gnawed at him, stirring a sense of unease within him. Why did she not cower in his presence like others did? The mystery of her identity and her unwavering courage left him unsettled, a feeling he had never experienced before.
"Hello!" she greeted forwarding her hand to touch him, his fur that felt soft under her hand.
"How have you been? Did you come here to visit me too? I came searching for you a few nights back in the hope of finding you here, but I couldn't. I thought you lived nearby but I guess you don't. But I am glad I am able to meet you tonight" She ranted as if meeting a long-lost friend, petting his head like he was some dog. He inched towards her and sat at a hair-breadth distance from her. He could smell the perfume but her real smell seemed to be hidden, probably the perfume did that and he didn't know much because he has been aloof to human life.
She had a face of excitement but her inside trembled as she found to be close to her. It was not a very comfortable position she wished to be in, because no matter how courageous her act was, his sharp canines did scare her a bit.
"Good boy!!" she praised further and it infuriated him to be treated like a dog when he knew well his one growl could put many dogs to a night of sleep forever. He growled showing his dislike for the affection she showed him thinking of him as a dog. She retreated her hand instantly scared that she offended him or angered him anyway. Silence prevailed until she spoke again. She wasn't here for a chit chat but to tell him things she has been feeling since she last met him in that same place, almost a month back.
"Will you transform into a human?" she asked. Alarick shook his head in denial. He didn't want to meet her in his human form yet. His hidden identity could be of his use someday.
"I saw one of the wolves transform that night" She filled him with the information of the last night she visited the place and her encounter with Parth. "He was completely naked" she whispered as if it was a secret that was not to be revealed. Her eyes were big and sparkling with a hint of shock and surprise in them.
He chuckled in his head and that chuckle made him halt his thinking. He did what...? He chuckled? He never chuckles, hell he hardly remembers the time he had had a good laugh. His own actions amused him.
