Chapter 1: Aislyn Joins Fairy Tail
The streets of Magnolia bustled with life, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the cobbled roads. Aislyn kept her hood up, the fabric barely concealing the unruly curls that framed her face. Beneath the cloak, her toned, curvy form moved with purpose, though the fabric had started to feel restrictive after the long walk.
She paused for a moment, tugging at the edge of her cloak impatiently. "Too damn hot for this," she muttered under her breath, her hands already drifting to the hem of her shirt as she yanked it off without a second thought, revealing a snug black sports bra underneath.
The people passing by cast her odd glances, but Aislyn barely noticed. She felt better now, free from the stifling fabric. With a satisfied huff, she tossed the shirt over her shoulder, striding forward toward her destination—the legendary Fairy Tail guild.
The stories she had heard about this place... a haven for mages, wild and unpredictable. It seemed like a perfect place to disappear and start fresh, especially after everything that had happened. Her fingers absentmindedly brushed the scar on her abdomen—an old wound from battles long past.
As she approached the grand wooden doors of the guildhall, she could already hear the muffled sounds of chaos inside. Fists hitting tables, laughter, and the occasional burst of magic. "Sounds like home," she muttered with a hint of a smirk, pulling open the door and stepping inside.
The inside of the guildhall was even more chaotic than she had expected.
People were brawling near the back, one guy with pink hair was yelling at another bare-chested man, and a small, blonde girl was trying to referee the mess. There was food and drinks everywhere, and the energy was unlike anything Aislyn had felt in a long time.
She took a few steps inside, tugging at the waistband of her pants and adjusting her bra unconsciously, not quite realizing she was on the verge of dropping her pants.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you can't just strip in the middle of the guildhall!" A voice called out from her right, pulling her from her thoughts.
Aislyn glanced over, eyebrow raised as she saw the shirtless ice mage—Gray Fullbuster—staring at her in disbelief. His hands were on his hips, but he was notably missing any upper garments, as usual.
Aislyn cocked her head, her lips pulling into a slow smirk. "You're one to talk, ice-boy."
Gray blinked, looking down at himself before scowling. "It's a bad habit!"
"Yeah, seems like I've got the same one," Aislyn shot back, shrugging and deciding to keep her pants on—for now.
Gray opened his mouth to reply, but before he could say anything, the pink-haired man bounded over, all wide grins and boundless energy. "Hey, new girl! What's up? I'm Natsu!" He jabbed a thumb at his chest proudly.
Aislyn raised an eyebrow. "Aislyn. And I wasn't planning on stripping, but the heat's killing me. Not sure how y'all stand it in here."
Natsu laughed loudly, clapping her on the back with enough force to make a lesser mage stumble. "That's 'cause you haven't seen Erza get mad yet. She'll freeze the whole place with just her glare."
Aislyn laughs as she turns towards Mirajane at the counter. "Hi I'm Mira, where would you like your guild mark?"
Aislyn raises her shirt , "Right here, Icy blue please," Asking Mira to place the mark right about her waistline. Mira places the stamp down smiling at the girl, "Welcome to Fairy Tail!"
Before Aislyn could reply, a low, gravelly voice cut through the noise from the corner of the room. "What's this about a new girl? And she's already half-naked?"
The air seemed to still for a moment as everyone turned toward the speaker—Gajeel Redfox, lounging casually in a corner booth with his feet up on the table. His piercing black eyes scanned Aislyn with a lazy, amused interest. The corner of his mouth tugged up into a smirk as his gaze trailed down her bare midriff.
Aislyn locked eyes with him, unbothered by his blatant stare. "Problem?" she asked, her tone sharp and sarcastic, as if daring him to say something.
Gajeel chuckled, leaning back further in his chair, arms crossed over his chest. "Nah. Just surprised. Takes some guts to walk in here and make a scene on your first day."
Aislyn shrugged nonchalantly. "I wasn't trying to make a scene. Just trying not to sweat my ass off." She gave him a look that said she wasn't here to impress anyone.
Gajeel's grin widened slightly, and there was a glint of recognition in his eyes—he knew dragon slayers when he saw them, and something about her aura screamed 'dragon.'
Before Gajeel could press her further, another figure approached—a woman with fiery scarlet hair and armor that looked like it was forged from pure willpower. "Erza Scarlet," the woman introduced herself, extending a hand. "And you are?"
"Aislyn," she said, shaking Erza's hand with a firm grip. "Water and Ice Dragon Slayer."
The room seemed to buzz with interest at the mention of Dragon Slayer magic, and Aislyn could feel the weight of several gazes on her now—particularly from Natsu, Gajeel, and even the usually aloof Gray.
Natsu, ever the excitable one, was practically bouncing on his feet. "Another Dragon Slayer?!" He grinned widely. "You gotta fight me! We'll see whose magic's stronger—fire or ice!"
Aislyn raised an eyebrow, her lips quirking into a playful smirk. "You sure you can handle it, flame-brain?"
Before Natsu could charge at her, Lucy stepped in, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Natsu, we just met her. Maybe save the brawling for later?"
Aislyn chuckled, but her gaze drifted back to Gajeel, who was still watching her with that unreadable expression. There was something about him—something familiar, yet foreign. It wasn't just the Dragon Slayer connection; it was the way he carried himself, like he was always on edge but hiding it behind layers of iron and attitude.
"So, what's your story, Ironhead?" Aislyn asked, crossing her arms over her chest, not backing down from the intensity in Gajeel's gaze.
Gajeel snorted. "You'll find out soon enough if you stick around. But you might wanna be careful. Fairy Tail's a rowdy bunch."
Aislyn laughed softly, the sound low and almost dangerous. "Rowdy? I'm not worried about a little chaos." She gave the room another once-over, feeling the energy of the guild—loud, messy, but... warm. For the first time in years, Aislyn felt like she might have found a place she could actually fit into.
Gajeel's eyes flickered with something close to approval before he tipped his head slightly. "We'll see, Ice Queen. We'll see."
The nickname hung in the air for a second, and Aislyn felt a smirk tug at her lips again. "Ice Queen, huh? Better than 'stripper,' I guess."
The banter between them was sharp, but underneath it, Aislyn could sense an understanding—a connection she hadn't felt in years. Maybe this place would be interesting after all.
