It was probably afternoon, considering where the sun was in the sky. Hayden was playing his guitar - Sheila - by the entrance of the cave. His brown hair hung over his left eye when he looked down, and his beanie made it hard to flip it out of the way, so every once in a while I would hear silence, then him play again, because he had to take his hand off the guitar to move his hair. His hair was a little bit in the style of Kris's, but he didn't care about it that much. It was always messy, and Kris was always fixing his. It was funny to watch.

Bry was in the back of the cave, sitting alone, staring at her hands. I know that Kris loves Bry and that he wants to be with her. But he's scared that Bry likes Hayden. Bry is just trying to make Kris jealous, and that makes me so angry sometimes. Sure he's annoying... Really, annoying... But he's my brother. My twin brother at that. And I'm not going to let this random girl that he saved from her village that was burning to the ground ruin him. Even though he's selfish and self absorbed, he's still a good guy. I think I should confront Bry, but I also think Kris should do this for himself.

Anne and Duke were sitting across from each other at the fire. I think I see romance with them sometimes, but then I realize that I also see no other hope for a slob like Duke and a constant worrier like Anne, so I just root for them together. I mean come on. No one can deny that. I looked back to Hayden, who was looking at me. He smirked and motioned for me to come over to sit by him. I smiled, stood up, and walked over to him.

I sat down next to him and we stared into each others' eyes. "How are you?" He asked, looking back to his gutar and playing it softly.

I shrugged. "I'm okay. You?"

He looked up at me a little bit, his eyes telling me that he was clearly debating something in his head, and his whole face a quizzical expression. "What makes you okay, and not good?"

I raised an eyebrow. "You really do know how to ask the right questions at the right time, don't you?" I smiled, moving my brown, curly hair behind my ear and looking into the forest.

"Apparently." He said, a bit of irritation in his voice. He stopped strumming his guitar and set it down next to him, leaning it on the wall of the cave. Then he adjusted his gaze to me. "Tell me, Hailey."

"Do you even know my real name?" I asked irritatedly. "Why should I tell you how I feel if you don't even care enough to use my real name?"

"Violet." He said. "Hailey is like.. A pet name. It's an inside joke. I thought you'd understand."

"Of course I understand. I can replay that whole day for you if you'd like."

"No, I remember it just fine." He said. "Tell me what's on your mind, Violet."

I sighed. There was obviously no getting around this. I looked up into his eyes innocently, and then I got mesmerized by his eyes. I kept staring until he finally snapped at me to wake up.

"Sorry," I said, and looked away, blushing.

"Just tell me." He said, scooting closer, holding my hand. "It's okay. I'm here."

I shook my head and smiled. "Your eyes."

I looked at him for approval of what I just said. He stared at me. Into my eyes, actually. And then he got up, without letting go of my hand, and he dragged me up too. He turned to face me, a mischevious expression on his face. He smirked and said, "Follow me." So I did.

As we walked/jogged, I thought about some things. Like how I don't know why I'm trusting this guy so much. I just met him a few days ago, and he almost got me to spill my secrets a few seconds ago. The only way I didn't, was by distracting him so much that he... Lead me to the outside of the cave, then to the top of the hill it was under. He turned around, grinning.
