Karan's eyes widened in stunned silence as he processed the unexpected question. His mind was a jumble of conflicting thoughts, each one tangling with the next.
"Are you serious?" he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
The response was assertive and unwavering. "Yes, Karan, I want to move in. Now, what do you say? Should I come or not?"
The air was thick with anticipation as Karan struggled to compose himself. His heart racing, he searched for the right words, unsure if he was ready for this monumental step.
The silence between them hung like a challenge, waiting to be met.
Karan's words lingered in the air, "This is not the correct time, Dhruthi." But before he could elaborate, the line went dead. Dhruthi had cut the call.
Panicked, Karan dialed her number repeatedly, but she ignored his calls. The silence was deafening.
Without thinking, Karan started his bike and rode to Dhruthi's PG, his mind racing with thoughts of what he'd say to her. As he arrived, he texted:
"I'm outside your PG. Please talk to me, Dhruthi."
The PG gate swung open with a creak, and Karan dismounted his bike, his eyes fixed on the entrance. But what he saw left him stunned.
Dhruthi emerged, her luggage packed and her expression resolute, accompanied by her warden. The determination in her eyes sent a shiver down Karan's spine.
The warden approached, her expression firm, and asked, "So, you're taking Dhruthi?"
Karan nodded, still reeling from the sudden turn of events.
Karan's eyes met Dhruthi's, but he could do nothing, silenced by the warden's authoritative presence.
"Sign here," the warden instructed, handing him a register.
Karan's hand moved with determination as he scribbled his signature.
"And write your phone number down," the warden added, her eyes narrowing.
Karan responded promptly, jotting down his number with a sense of resolve.
Without a word, Karan helped Dhruthi onto the back of his bike, securing her luggage in place.
As they prepared to leave, the warden's parting words hung in the air: "Take care of her."
With a deep breath, Karan kicked start the bike and sped away, Dhruthi's arms wrapped tightly around his waist.
Dhruthi's voice was laced with vulnerability. "Won't you say anything to me?"
Karan's frustration boiled over. "If I say anything now, will it change anything?"
His eyes locked onto hers, searching for answers.
"Why now, Dhruthi? We could have taken it slow. Why do you want to move in suddenly with me?" Karan demanded, his tone tinged with desperation.
"You'll regret this, see," Karan warned, his words laced with concern.
Dhruthi's response was laced with mockery. "Why would I regret? In the future, I have to live with you only, right?"
Karan's face contorted in anguish. "Yeah, Dhruthi, you have to, but this is not the correct time. What if I do something wrong? What if I couldn't control my feelings?"
Dhruthi's gaze turned unwavering, her voice firm. "Then don't control them."
Karan's eyes widened in shock, reeling from the sudden blows of Dhruthi's words.
