Ch.7 Prisoners of the ISA

Beth was being dragged towards a large cell. Sportsmaster holds Beth by the arm and uses his free hand to open the cell door. Rick was sitting inside the cell

Rick was in bad shape since he beaten and bruised with a few cuts on his face. He looks up to see Beth being chained up by Sportsmaster.

"Looks like you have a cellmate, boy" Sportsmaster laughs before he leaves and locks the cell door.

Rick studies Beth. He knew Beth from school since they had a art class together and also he helps her out of lockers.

"Is anyone there ? I can't see" Beth said as she desperately tries to see through her blurry version.

"It's okay I'm here with you" Rick said.

"Who are you ?" Beth asked obviously scared.

"Beth it's me Rick. Your in my art class" Rick said calmly.

"Rick oh thank goodness it's someone I know" Beth said.

Rick smiles.

"Where are you ?" Beth asked.

"You can't see ?" Rick asked.

"Cindy smashed my glasses. I'm almost blind with out my glasses" Beth said.

Rick gets an idea as he reaches in his pocket and pulls a pair of goggles. He walks up to her despite the chains.

"Here this should help you" Rick said as he puts on the goggles over her eyes.

Rick press a button on the side of the goggles.

"Can you see me now ?" Rick asked.

Beth blinks as her vision adjusts to a green screen where she sees Rick.

"I can see !" Beth cheers.

Rick smiles.

Beth sees that Rick has cuts on his face.

"Oh my goodness your bleeding" Beth gasps.

"I'm okay it's just a cut" Rick said.

"We need bandaids" Beth said.

"Beth I'm okay" Rick tries reinsure her.

"Wait I have one. I always care a few just in case" Beth said as she brings out a bandaid.

Beth places the bandaid on Rick's cut cheek. Rick smiles at her.

"Thanks" Rick said with a smile.

"No problem" Beth smiles.

"So how did you come across these goggles?" Beth asked.

"I worked with the superhero Dr. Mid-nite in the Justice society, he gave me his goggles to protect when he retired" Rick explains.

"It's pretty cool that your a superhero" Beth said.

"Yeah it is" Rick chuckles.

"So do you have any ideas on how to get out of here" Beth asked as she looks at her chains.

"They took my hour glass so I don't have my strength to break the chains" Rick admits.

"Maybe we can sit her and talk for a little bit" Beth suggests.

"Yeah that would be nice" Rick said.

Suddenly Cindy comes in.

"I'm gonna asks this once ! Where's the cosmic staff ?! Cindy snares.

"Like I told you before I don't know" Rick lies.

"Your a liar!" Cindy growls.

"Well Cindy if I don't know then I don't know" Rick retorts.

"I will make you talk !" Cindy shouts.

"Go ahead Cindy I won't break" Rick smirks.

Cindy unleashes her knife and stabs Rick in the stomach.

"Rick !" Beth shouts in fear.
