Ch.23 Bad situation

Henry stands there in shock as Cindy once again stabs Rick in the chest. He watches as Beth struggles against the ropes.

"Your gonna tell me more about JSA !" Cindy growls.

"Do your worse" Rick breaths out.

"Leave him alone Cindy!" Beth shouts.

Henry uses his powers to pull Cindy back, much to her shock.

"Henry what the heck ?!' Cindy shouts.

"Why do you keep hurting Rick?" Henry snares.

"Henry he's gonna speak" Cindy said.

"I can read his mind there's no need to hurt Rick besides I think you like tourting him" Henry said.

"You would be right" Cindy smirks.

"Your sick Cindy!" Beth shouts.

"Oh and that's news to you, nerd ?" Cindy snares.

"Get out of this cell and leave Rick alone!" Henry shouts.

"How about you make me" Cindy smirks.

Suddenly Cindy is shoved into a wall by Henry's telepathically powers. Cindy felt like she was chocking.

"I won't ask again leave this cell !" Henry shouts.

Cindy becomes unresponsive as her face turns pale. Artemis and Issac run in.

"Henry let her go" Artemis begs as she grabs Henry's hand.

"She's cruel! Everyone is cruel! She's been torturing Rick ! And she enjoys it !" Henry growls.

Issac looks at Rick who is bleeding heavily. Artemis sees the state Rick is in and could see what Henry is talking about.

"Henry I know how you feel" Beth speaks up.

Henry looks at Beth.

"She hurts people because that what she does and your right she is cruel" Beth said.

Henry reads Beth's mind.

"You love Rick" Henry said.

Rick looks up at Beth and smiles.

"I do" Beth admits.

"Your angry at Cindy" Henry said.

"I'm angry at Cindy because she hurt Rick" Beth said.

"I'm angry too and she shouldn't get away with it" Henry said.

"No she shouldn't but I don't want her to die" Beth said.

"Let her go Henry" Rick whispers.

Henry reads Rick's mind.

"You keep thinking of your mom" Henry said.

Rick looks at Henry before nodding. Henry let's go of Cindy as she falls to ground. Cindy tries to catch her breath as she crawls to her knees.

"Henry what the hell !?" Cindy shouts as she finally catches her breath.

"I'm sorry, you were hurting him I just couldn't let you do further harm to him" Henry said.

"I can do what I want!" Cindy growls.

"Why ?" Henry asked in anger.

"Guys how about we leave the cell" Issac suggests.

"Fine I'll leave" Cindy snares as she storms out of the cell.

Issac and Artemis leave but Henry stays behind as he continues to reads Rick's mind.

"I want to know more about your mother and father" Henry said.

"What do you want to know?" Rick asked weakly.

"What was your mom like?" Henry asked.

"My mom was sweet and caring but I remember her health wasn't the best" Rick admits.

"She had heart failure" Henry said as he reads Rick's thoughts.

"Yeah it was hard when my dad went on long term business trips and when she got very sick he came back" Rick said.

Henry looks at his sad expression before he exits the cell.
