The sun was starting to set, casting a soft orange light over the village as Hiromi and Sakumo walked down the quiet streets toward the Academy. Hiromi skipped next to Sakumo, her small hand occasionally bumping against his as she hummed a soft tune.

Hiromi reached up and grabbed Sakumo's hand, her small fingers curling around his. She glanced up at him with curious eyes. "Ojiichan, do you think Kashi made any new friends today?"

He smiled down at her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "Maybe he did," he replied warmly. "It's the first day, so it might take some time."

She hummed in response, her eyes drifting ahead, still wondering about Kakashi and what his day had been like. She kicked a small pebble, watching it roll ahead of them before looking back up at Sakumo.

"But... Kashi doesn't talk to many people," she mumbled, her grip tightening slightly. "What if no one talks to him?"

Sakumo's smile softened, and he gave her hand another reassuring squeeze.  "I'm sure he'll find someone. And not everyone makes friends right away. It takes time."

"Hiromi hope Kashi found some friends," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

He glanced down at her, his eyes filled with warmth. "I'm sure he will," he reassured. "And even if he doesn't, there's plenty of time."

Hiromi nodded, though a small frown still tugged at her lips. "Hiromi just don't want him to be sad," she murmured.

Sakumo's heart warmed at her words. "He's lucky to have you looking out for him, Hiromi-chan," he said softly. "And I'm sure, no matter what, he knows you're always there for him."

Her frown slowly melted into a small smile, reassured by Sakumo's words.

As they arrived at the academy, they were greeted by the sight of parents scattered across the grounds. Some were chatting excitedly, while others waited quietly for their children. Sakumo joined in, chatting casually with a few other parents, sharing polite smiles and small talk.

Hiromi wandered over to a nearby bench, her short legs swinging as she climbed onto the seat. She sat there, gripping the edge with her small hands, her eyes searching the crowd for any sign of Kakashi. Her feet dangled above the ground, kicking lightly as she hummed to herself.

The excitement from earlier had settled into anxiety. Hiromi trusted Kakashi, but she couldn't shake a little worry. What if he didn't make any friends today? She wrinkled her nose, watching kids laugh and chat with their parents as they passed by.

After a few moments of waiting, boredom started to settle in. Hiromi's feet stopped swinging as she sighed, her small shoulders slumping. She looked over at Sakumo, who was still deep in conversation with the other parents.

She jumped off the bench, landing lightly on her feet. "Ojiichan!" she called out, waving her arms to catch his attention. "Hiromi wants to look around!"
