third person
scott and aristos, better known on the street as scrim and ruby. cousins from new orleans who fell into the world of gangs, drugs and weapons from a young age.
pretty crimes to support drug addictions quickly lead up to the inevitable formation of grey five nine, or g59. one of the more powerful gangs in new orleans and surrounding areas. it wasn't necessarily large, but people knew better than to ever think about fucking with them. apo, or authorized personnel only, were the only ones truly close to rivalling them.
mk, for the lack of better words was the 'leader' of apo. he'd recently tried to pull a stunt on g59 that tried to take out several members. this leaving germ, a well loved associate of scrim and ruby's, dead.
scrim, who was particularly close with germ, had already began plotting his revenge.
revenge, which in this case was a girl named gabrielle, merrick's long term girlfriend.
——
scrim sat in the driver's seat of the older chevrolet impala. he couldn't risk standing out in anything overly flashy. this was, he just looked like any average car parked on the street.
the windows were tinted almost completely black, but it was dark out. so it was hard to tell anyways.
ruby, as always, at his side in the passenger seat.
they sat in wait, for the perfect moment. they'd spent the last several weeks planning this to be executed perfectly.
merrick was stupid, but not stupid enough to let his girlfriend wander alone around the city.
unless of course, she was safely meeting a friend inside for the night, and he had bigger things to worry about.
the friend of course, who had been fucking ruby for months and owed him several, several favours or a lot of money. she didn't have the money, so a favour it was.
and the bigger things to worry about, some g59 pawns walking into apo territory, guns blazing. hopefully they'd make it out alive, but some sacrifices had to be made, for germ's sake.
just as planned, gabrielle approached the stairwell of brenna's apartment.
once behind closed doors, isolated from any security cameras, the plan fell into motion.
gabrielle greeted brenna, who she thought was her friend. she startled when she felt something press against her back, hearing the gun click, she turned around to face ruby terror in her eyes.
"brenna, help" her voice shook. "sorry gab", she said with little emotion, pulling a handgun from the back of her waistband. she hesitantly pointed it at gabrielle, leaving her trapped between the barrels of two guns.
"come with me. don't scream, don't run, don't try anything or i'll blow your pretty brains all over the sidewalk, got it?" ruby threatened
"thanks sweetheart" ruby said, winking at brenna.
deep down, ruby and scrim were both actually very nice, carling people. they just knew how and when to put up the hard front.
ruby walked gabrielle out to the car, gun still drawn but held just out of sight to any average pedestrian.
she took quick, stiff steps, trying not to fall over her own feet. of course, the one time merrick didn't have eyes on her this happens.
the back door of the impala opened, "get in" ruby instructed, gently pushing her towards the car. she obliged, knowing it was better than the alternative. merrick would find these guys soon enough, and they'd be dead.
"take your clothes off" scrim told her, gabrielle's eyes widened, she sat still, paralyzed with fear.
"relax, i'm not a fucking perv. we're just not leaving this spot with the chance of you having any sort of bug or gps tracking anything on you" scrim said, which she felt was in a oddly casual tone for the situation at hand.
hesitantly, she stripped down to her all black bra and underwear. ruby took the clothes from her, dropping them outside of the car window onto the pavement. he lit a match and threw it, leaving the pile of fabric to become engulfed in flames.
"let's get out here" scrim said, pulling away from the scene with tires squealing.
"please don't hurt me" gabrielle whispered from the back seat, her voice barely audible.
"we're not gonna hurt you" scrim said, which wasn't very convincing.
she sat with her knees up to her chest, arms wrapped around herself. "i'll do whatever you want, i'll tell mk to back off, anything you want, just please don't hurt me" she pleaded
"i'm serious, we aren't gonna hurt you, don't worry. we have morals, we don't beat women, even if they're dating the biggest joke in the city" ruby scoffed.
"sorry about all that by the way, we just had to make sure you'd come with us" he added.
behind closed doors, their hard facade immediately disappeared. they were back to bantering like brothers.
"can you please just tell me what's going on?" she asked. the street lights provided just enough light for her to see the two men in the front of the car. they both had shiesty's on, they both had visible beards and fave tattoos. the one driving had a few stray curls peeking out around his forehead.
"you're just gonna stay with us for a little bit, until your boyfriend is dealt with. he killed germ, we take you, an eye for an eye" scrim said to her "but just figuratively. we're not gonna kill you, really don't worry. he just needs a lesson"
gabrielle still didn't know how to feel, why should she believe them? for some reason, they seemed sincere though.
she didn't beg for merrick's life. he loved her but he wasn't good for her. he regularly cheated on her, he got verbally and emotionally abusive, borderline physical at some points. she was only still with him because she was scared of him.
she was scared of what he would do to her, and now becoming reality, what others would do to her because of him.
