Engineer Series 1: Age Doesn't Matter

Prologue

"They say age is just a number, but for me, it's the reason I found a love I never thought possible. With a 13-year age gap, who would have imagined we could have a future together? Love truly works in mysterious ways, revealing itself unexpectedly. But will it last forever?

Habang ang ulan ay tumutulo sa bintana, nagtagpo sila sa isang tahimik na kalsada. "Mantis," tanong ni Lorren, "ano ang nangyayari sa atin?"

"Alam mo, Lorren," simula ni Mantis,his voice sadend. "Hindi ko alam kung makakaya ko ito."

"Pero mahal mo ako, di ba?" pakiusap niya, umaasang makikita ang pag-asa sa kanyang mga mata.

"Sa totoo lang," sagot niya, "hindi kita mahal" pag sisinungaling ni mantis sa sinabi niya

Ang mga luha ni Lorren ay nahaluan ng ulan, nahulog mula sa kanyang mga mata. "Bakit mo ako pinabayaan?"

"Pasensya na," sabi ni Mantis, ang kanyang puso ay puno ng sakit.

Habang patuloy ang ulan, tila nagdala ito ng mga anino ng hindi natupad na mga pangarap at mga tanong na walang kasagutan, na nag-iiwan sa kanila sa isang malamig na dilim.
