"Ready?" I asked, watching my home boss apply lipstick on those juicy, addicting lips of hers. Today's a special day: it's Mom's birthday, and we're heading to Idika's home to celebrate. Karthik has organized a surprise party for her, and apparently, everyone's invited. Even my friends. I didn't expect him to invite them, but I guess they've gotten closer during our wedding and all the after-events.
"Almost done. Are you ready?" she asked, snapping the lipstick shut and picking up her earrings.
"I'm always ready, darling," I said dramatically, spreading my arms wide. She chuckled and continued putting on her earrings. This woman... she's changed me so much. I'm not the shy Advay I used to be—well, at least not with her—but I'm not complaining.
I was pulled out of my daydream when Maple jumped on me. This little guy is always the one to snap me out of my thoughts. He's coming along because, apparently, everyone wants to meet him too.
