AFTER 3 YEARS
"ADVAY!" Idika shouted, stomping toward her husband. "Where are the rings?" Her hands were planted firmly on her waist as she shot him a piercing glare.
Advay let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh... actually, I kind of... lost them," he stammered, shrinking under her intense gaze.
"Advay, you had one job! What are Adi and Sarah supposed to exchange on stage now?" she demanded, her frustration evident.
"I'll find them, baby. Just give me a few hours," he said, forcing a sheepish smile.
"The wedding starts in an hour, Advay! We're about to leave! Do you think you're some detective who's going to miraculously track them down at the last minute?"
"IDIKAA!" A loud shout echoed, making both of them turn their heads in the direction of the voice.
"Advay, ye pakdo! Mujhe pakda ke pata nahi kidhar bhaag gaye the," Kaira huffed, frustration clear in her voice as she shoved two boxes into his hands.
A wide grin stretched across Advay's face as he held up the boxes like they were his prized possession. Turning to Idika, he beamed, his eyes sparkling with triumph, as if he had just uncovered a hidden treasure.
Idika sighed, a tired smile playing on her lips as she rested her head on Kaira's shoulder. "You have no idea how close I was to committing a crime," she mumbled, shooting a pointed look at Advay, who was still grinning like a child.
"I'm tired," Idika murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Advay's grin softened into a gentle smile as he held out his hand, pulling her away from Kaira. "Can you leave?," he asked Kaira, who scoffed but walked away anyway.
"I can't do this anymore," Idika whined, wrapping her arms around him.
Advay chuckled, stroking her back. "Being the sister of the bride and sister-in-law of the groom is not easy. Can't they ask someone else to do the work?" she grumbled, burying her face in his chest.
Advay smiled, holding her close as he swayed them slightly. "I know you love it, Berry," he teased.
Idika groaned, pulling back to glare at him. "No, I don't. I'm this close to running away and letting them deal with their own wedding," she said, holding up her fingers with a tiny gap between them.
Advay laughed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Acha Ji?"
She rolled her eyes but leaned into his touch. "Haan Ji"
"You should leave, love. Mumma and Papa might need you there, you are the brother of the groom."
Advay gave her a mischievous smile, pulling her into a quick hug. "I know, I know. But can't they manage without me for just a little longer?"
