FORTY THOUSAND VIEWS!
I never thought I'd reach this milestone when I first started writing Gehrai. I'm truly grateful to every reader who took the time to go through what I consider my chaotic mess of words. Honestly, I can't stand my own writing—it feels like pure cringe, and I'm never fully satisfied. I have no clue how you all manage to read it. But if there's one thing I absolutely adore, it's Advay and Idika. They're pieces of me, reflecting different parts of my personality in ways I could never put into words otherwise.
I also want to take a moment to thank two of my readers boookgirliee and SoniaGuglani who have been with me since the very beginning. I don't even know if one of them is still reading, but girl, if you are, I love you so much! You were the one who kept me going, pushing me to write when I wanted to stop. Your comments made my day, and I can't thank you enough for your unwavering support. Thank you so so so much boookgirliee .
And now, let's get to the fun facts»
names;
Idika was originally going to be named Aarohi, but since the name felt overused, I decided to go with Idika instead—it just felt perfect.
Advay was initially supposed to be Anvay, but to match the vibe of Idika's name, I changed it to Advay.
I've mentioned this before, but there's actually a story behind Maple's name. I've always loved the name Maple, and when we adopted our pet dog, I wanted to name him that. But since he was already used to his name, Sheru, we had to let go of the idea. This story has always felt personal to me, so I decided to give the name Maple a place here.
their profession;
Idika is a makeup artist because that's what I aspire to be after graduation. Advay is a restaurateur and chef because I absolutely love it when men cook, so basically, mere saare shaunk idhar pure ho rahe hain.
meaning behind IDSR and KTMR;
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but IDSR stands for IdikaSarah, and KTMR stands for KarthikMahira. ID from Idika and SR from Sarah, KT from Karthik and MR from Mahira.
my connection and relatability with the characters;
The characters I've written are, in many ways, pieces of me. Idika embodies my dreams and aspirations—her being an army reflects my personality, while her hopeless romantic nature, love for reading, and passion for makeup are all extensions of who I am.
As for Advay, his overthinking and unwavering devotion to his wife represent the kind of partner I hope to be in the future.
ship names and other;
So, the ship names!
-Advay + Idika = Advika (also their daughter's name!)
-Mahira + Karthik = Mahika (their daughter's name)
-Aditya + Sarah = Adirah (their daughter's name)
-Reyaansh + Kaira = Keyaansh (they bore a son, who is named Kiaan)
Now, for some updates,Reyhana ended up marrying her colleague, and as for Rohan? Well, he had an arranged marriage, and let me tell you—he's happy asf! >3<
lore behind the arrangement;
Well, well, well... here comes the most interesting and the last fact! This was supposed to be in the book, but I just couldn't figure out how to write it.
Remember Kiran Aunty? (Go check, Chapter 3—Idika's conversation with her mother.) Well, surprise! She's none other than Reyhana and Reyaansh's mother. Kyun chauk gaye na? Turns out, she was the one who played matchmaker in their marriage. Idika ka Reyaansh ki bhen ki bestfriend hona was not coincidence and neither of them knew about this fact until their marriage. So, let's take a moment to thank their mother—because without her, this book wouldn't even exist! ;p
bonus facts;
» It has become a tradition for Advay to gift Idika a gajra bracelet on every anniversary.
» Every year on the day of their anniversary , they visit their restaurant and order the same meal they had on their first date.
» Aditya first developed feelings for Sarah the moment he saw her at her home, and over time, he completely fell in love with her. (Advay and Idika's first meet)
» Advay and Idika welcomed a son, much to Advika's delight, and they named him Ivaan.
» On every Sunday, Idika and Advay's mother spent the day relaxing while their husbands took over the kitchen. When Sarah married Aditya, she became part of the girl gang, and Aditya, being completely smitten with his wife, happily joined the cooking squad.
» Just like Idika, as Advika grew up listening to BTS, they eventually became her favorite people too.
