Key Two: Wandering:
Allen has no idea how long he's been wandering around like this. He has no idea where he's going. This endless void of darkness looked the same. His body felt so cold. He looked so frail, so skinny. Even in his own mind, the angel looked like a walking corpse.
The silence made it worse. He can't forget that he's in pain. Allen had no idea such a thing could be possible. There was the idea of... No! Don't think about that. She couldn't reach him here.
She couldn't reach him here, right?
What did he do in this empty space? Not much to be honest. He didn't have to. The angel would just stay in the sunken place until Road was done violating him. That was the only way that he could keep from going crazy. And this was good.
Allen froze in his tracks.
"Hello?"
This wasn't right. There wasn't supposed to be anyone else here. No one could come in here. Allen was safe here.
"Who's there?"
When did the air get so heavy? Allen felt like there was a weight on his chest. He thought that he was going to choke. This started happening more often. Subtle at first. He almost didn't notice it. Almost.
In the beginning, the invading presence didn't go anything. It wasn't that big to begin with. The ant-sized interloper sat watching Allen as he sat in his space.
But something is different. Allen couldn't help but to notice it. He didn't know when he started to feel its presence. How long had it been there? The angel didn't want to think about that. He pressed his lips together.
I can't stay here anymore.
This is why he started walking.
Allen doesn't know where he is going. He's never tried to leave this place before. Then again, the interloper hadn't tried to do anything until now. When did it get bigger? The angel frowned and puffed up his cheeks. Why should he do this? She already took his wings, body, dignity, and free will. And now she was going for his sanity?
Something inside of him wouldn't let that happen. Allen had to fight to keep what was left of him together.
But why? He's been fighting a losing battle. Coming here became his only way to cope. It was the only thing that was keeping him together. If he lost that, then...
Aizen was seeing that each time he fed. Feeding... Wait... Was...
No! Don't think about that!
Allen froze. He wanted to think that he was going crazy. But no. There was a scuddling noise in the distance. Allen shivered. He's heard that sound in his conscious mind. It was in his body every day after all. His spine tensed up. He started to panic. The angel feared this would happen.
No...
His limbs felt numb. His legs became heavy. Little teeth pinched him in the nerves. This has happened before.
No.
This was different.
How did Aizen manage to finally get to the brain stem? The last time the host checked, the parasite wasn't strong enough to break through bones. The most it could do was leave scratches on the base of his skull. It could never reach his brain. How was this even possible?
Allen began to feel tingling in his fingertips. His nerves felt like they were on fire. He could feel his heart pounding against his chest. His vision blurred in and out. The angel tried to cry out but his voice was gone. Allen's mind ran around in circles. He didn't have time to think.
Everything happened in a blink.
In one instance, Allen was swaying over. The next, he found himself falling to the ground.
Then it all went black.
Allen awoke to bright lights hitting him in the face. He winced as he opened his eyes. The angel had to put up his hand to see. Something felt different. Once his eyes adjusted, Allen looked around.
Where did all of this steel come from? There were so many buildings in the distance. Some of them blocked out the sky. Speaking which, said sky looked so dim. There wasn't a cloud in sight, but the sun wasn't out either.
He's seen this place before.
Allen shook his head as he backed away.
Oh no... No. No!
Suddenly, the angel went still. A low humming filled his ears. It sounded like gibberish at first. Allen couldn't turn away. His body went still. His eyes became empty. The grabbled sounds started to come together to make words.
Come inside, darling.
"Yes, mistress."
The angel began walking forward. He wasn't in control of his unconscious mind anymore. She had started to take root and he just hadn't seen it yet.
Road looked down at her little pet and smirked. She picked up another needle and injected it into his right inner thigh. This was the final part of the process. Allen went limp underneath her in seconds. Road felt for a pulse even though she didn't need to. Not like angels could really die anyway. The monster counted down in her head.
One... Two... Three... Four... Five... Six.
Road removed the blindfold. Allen's eyes looked clouded over as he started to breathe heavily. A small tear down his cheek.
