Paige Joy stared at the blood forming a pool underneath Audino's feet. She could barely move a muscle due to fear and shock holding her back. "A-Audino...?" She murmured with a shaky voice. The female Pokémon stumbled back before slowly looking over her shoulder and weakly smiling at Paige.
"Audi...-" Audino's eyes widened after she was stabbed in the chest by two sharp ends of a powerful Pokémon's wings which caused her to cough up blood and fall to her knees. The fierce Pokémon returned to its trainer's side on the opposite end of the battlefield.
"Audino...AUDINO!!!" Paige ran over to her partner Pokémon and caught her before she could fall on her back. The trainer cradled Audino in her arms as she looked down at the Pokémon, her eyes filled with tears. "A-Audino! You have to stay with me! Please!" Paige shouted as Audino stared up at her, her eyes slowly losing life.
"A-Audi...no..." The Pokémon raised a hand and wiped the tears away from Paige's eyes. She smiled weakly once more as blood steadily oozed out of her puncture wounds. Audino raised her other hand to gently hold one of Paige's which was the one possessing the stone with unexplained power. Paige's eyes suddenly widened when Audino's grip on her hand went limp. She only stared at her Pokémon's lifeless eyes.
"It's your fault, you know? I told you how much of a danger it would be to face me and you didn't listen," The opposing trainer walked over before standing over Paige and her dying Pokémon. "Your inflated ego got your Pokémon killed, Joy. You're a trainer, I'm a survivor. Once you stepped on the battlefield with me, it was over." The trainer claimed as her Pokémon stood behind her after reverting to its original form.
Paige slowly looked up at the trainer with tears staining her cheeks. "Y-You killed her...YOU KILLED HER!!!" Paige shouted at the trainer, enraged by the outcome of the battle. Even though she was fueled with rage, she was still too terrified to move, especially with such a powerful Pokémon behind the trainer. Paige flinched fearfully when the trainer gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
The trainer only smirked widely and said, "You're too weak," She looked down at Paige. "You're weaker than the low lives back in Sinnoh but you want to become a Pokémon Master? Fat chance. Give up. Your dream died with your Pokémon. Bury it. You don't deserve it." The trainer spat before she returned her Pokémon to its Poké Ball and turned away from Paige.
Paige returned her eyes to Audino and shook her. "Please wake up...please! Audino...Audino...AUDINO!!!" Paige shouted as everything became a blur.

Nurse Joy sat up and screamed at the top of her lungs. She couldn't handle the nightmare she just went through. They haven't been that bad recently, but thinking about Jolyne's Pokémon battle and dreams of battling stronger trainers rekindled these horrendous nightmares. "AAAAAAAAHHH!!!" Nurse Joy looked around frantically, feeling like she was having a heart attack. "I can't...I can't..." Nurse Joy murmured repeatedly as she slowly looked down at her hands, imagining nothing but Audino's blood staining her shaky fingers. She exhaled deeply and used her hands to cover her face as cold sweat trickled down her face.
"Paige!?" Nurse Joy could faintly hear Jolyne's voice behind the door. "Are you okay!?" Jolyne burst into her older sister's bedroom to see Paige, the older Nurse Joy, covering her sweat-covered face with her hands as tears ran down her face. "Sis...?"
"It's all my fault...it's all my fault..." Paige murmured to herself; all she could remember was the blood that drenched her hand that day. All she could remember was the smirk on her opponent's face as her Audino drew its last breath.
