"Good morning, Miss Swift, how are you?" the principal greeted me kindly.
I returned his greeting with a "Good morning" and told him I was doing well, but that I had something I needed to address. I sat down in the chair opposite him. His desk was cluttered. I wouldn't be able to work properly if mine looked like that. He seemed stressed, so I knew I had to present my idea twice as convincingly.
"As you may know, the Grammys are next year, and I've been nominated in several categories, including Album of the Year. If I win in that category, I'll break a record. I've had the idea to write a new song. I know that my project week is technically over, but I love being here at this school, and I love the students.
My idea is to lead a course or continue teaching the class, and during the sessions, I'd like to write a song together with the students. Once it's finished, the song would be released, and we could even perform it at the Grammys. I enjoy teaching people about music, and I want to show the students a different world. This would also bring positive attention to the school and strengthen its reputation, though that's not the main reason. The main reason is that it would be fun, and the students could gain valuable experience. And who knows, maybe we'll discover some musical talent along the way."
The longer I talked, the wider his smile became. I had a feeling that he liked the concept, and I hoped he would agree because I would love to stay at this school a little longer.
"Miss Swift, that's a brilliant idea. I find what you've come up with extremely interesting. We can definitely implement it, and you can start again as soon as next week. I think it's best to keep the same class, though, otherwise it might get too crowded. I believe it's a great idea, and I'm happy that you'll be continuing with us at the school and teaching the students. You just need to let me know how things are going with Mr. Kelce. I can arrange for a new teacher to assist you if needed."
I nodded. "First of all, thank you, and no, that's not a problem at all. We get along well and work great together," I said, though inwardly I was thinking about our lovely evening and his lips on mine.
He smiled, and I signed a few more documents before saying goodbye and heading back to the classroom.
I lightly knocked on the doorframe to let everyone know I was back. I closed the door behind me and entered the room. Travis was leaning against the desk, looking at me.
"How did it go?" he whispered in my ear as I walked past him. I turned just enough for the students to see my back and replied softly, "Good."
"Okay, everyone, are you ready? I hope so, because I'd like to go over everything," I told the class. Travis returned to his seat, and I began the evaluation.
"Tory, can you please start?" I asked her. Tory cleared her throat briefly and smiled as she looked around the room.
"Well, I found the project really exciting! The topics we covered were not only interesting, but they also got many of us thinking. I particularly enjoyed the group work. we could exchange our ideas and learn from each other."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "I think everyone contributed something valuable. It was great to see how differently we approached the same task."
Tory looked at the class and smiled. "Also, I thought it was awesome that we could give feedback. It helped me gain new perspectives. Overall, I think we worked really well as a team, and I'm proud of what we accomplished!"
I smiled at the positive feedback. "Thank you, Tory. Does anyone else have anything to say, or is everyone in agreement?" I asked. Many students shared positive comments, but there was also some criticism, which was perfectly normal, and I could handle that.
"Mr. Kelce, would you like to add anything?" I asked Travis.
"I'd first like to thank you for the wonderful project. You've stepped into the teacher role beautifully, and I must say that you have this class under control better than I ever will," he replied.
Everyone started laughing, and I couldn't help but chuckle a little too.
The class was over, and many students came up to me to say goodbye. I didn't want to mention the extended project yet, so I said my farewells as well. When Tory and her friends passed by, Tory said, "Nice sweater, Miss Swift," with a wink before leaving the room.
Once all the students were gone, I sank into my chair, needing a moment to collect myself. I felt a hand on my thigh and opened my eyes to see the green grass field, feeling right at home.
"Hey," I said softly.
He repeated it. "What was that about with the principal?" Travis asked.
I exhaled loudly, preparing to share my news. "I'm extending the project week and continuing on."
Travis's mouth dropped open. "Are you serious?" he asked, surprised.
I nodded. "Yes, as serious as this kiss I'm about to give you." That was my last word before my lips found his. They were soft and warm. He was such a good kisser. The kiss was slightly stormy but filled with the seriousness and pride from Travis's side.
I pulled back and asked the question everyone wonders. "So, what are we now, Travis? Help me, I don't know." His eyes sparkled as he licked his lips after the kiss, which was the hottest thing anyone could do.
"I like you, and I would like to call you my girlfriend," he said.
I beamed. this was the moment I had been waiting for. I nodded. "Travis Kelce, I hereby officially declare myself your girlfriend," I said humorously. "You may now kiss your girlfriend," I completed the sentence.
Travis just laughed at me and gave me a soft, meaningful kiss on the lips again. My phone vibrated. "Oh, sorry, Trav, this is important. It's Tree. I have to take this." I grabbed my phone and answered the call.
"Hello, Tree, what's up?"
"Taylor, did you hear that your students made a fan page about you and Mr. Kelce?"
I was stunned. "What did they do?" I asked.
"A fan page? Well, I guess high school is treating you well," I smiled at Travis, and he winked back.
"Yes," he said,
I playfully slapped him because Tree now knew he was in the room, but I didn't think she minded, as she just kept talking.
"On the page, there are tons of pictures of you two, and students are claiming you're together. There are photos of Travis getting close to you or ones where you're making eye contact. There's even one from today with you in an oversized black sweater that's definitely not yours. Taylor, I know your wardrobe."
I chuckled lightly. "Well, Tree, I'm sorry, but I can't stop my students from running it."
"Okay, Taylor, I understand. But please tell me, are the rumors true? Are you with him? And don't you dare lie to me."
I blushed slightly and looked Travis in the eyes. "Yes," I said confidently, and he smiled.
"Alright, I figured as much. You'll need to decide when you want to go public with this, but make sure you do it soon. Because as soon as the first picture of you two kissing shows up on that Instagram page, it'll be obvious anyway. What I'm trying to say is, until it's official, be careful."
I nodded at her little lecture. "Yes, mom, we will," I said, and she laughed.
"Taylor, I mean it seriously. And when were you planning on telling me that you're extending the project? I got a call from the principal earlier saying you were in his office."
"I was going to tell you, Tree, but now you know. I've already thought it all through. it's going to work."
"Okay, I trust you, Taylor. I'll come with you to school on Monday. I need to meet your new lover and see how you're managing everything."
I rolled my eyes at her words, agreed, and said goodbye.
