The King of Curses was known as the strongest of the Heian era. No one knew where he came from. He appeared one day and all hell broke loose.

Sukuna was always traveling. In case of Sukuna's arrival, people in villages and cities built shrines for Sukuna's temporary stay. Daily food offerings, women, dancers, musicians, singers, everything valuable would be presented to Sukuna. Anything to sway him from burning everything to the ground. Even then, survival was never guaranteed. Some lived long enough to serve him, others were reduced to ash at a whim.

If a shrine was built beforehand, the chance of him burning everything to the ground will be down to 20%. However, news didn't spread that well in the Heian era, especially in small towns and villages. There were still a lot of places that hadn't heard of Sukuna and wouldn't have been prepared.

Therefore, bloodshed still occurred. And most of all...

That was the cause of the closure of a business and it upsetted a certain cursed spirit.

Black Flash!

Sukuna's ribs were shattered by the black flash and the bone shards pierced his lungs. An instant heal with Reverse Curse Technique was done. But the damage to his pride was irreversible.

Sukuna's crimson eyes flickered with fury. He was ready to retaliate, but Satoru only grinned. He pounced on Sukuna, pinning him down effortlessly as he examined the infamous King of Curses beneath him.

"You're not dead? That's a first," Satoru mused, his voice a mixture of awe and curiosity. He'd killed so many with a single strike before. This was new.

Satoru checked out the half-naked King of Curses. Sukuna didn't look that different from the usual humans except for the extra pair of eyes and arms. He squeezed Sukuna's bicep playfully, as though testing its firmness, before tilting his head in a playful manner.

"Not so scary up close," Satoru remarked, fingers brushing Sukuna's jaw. Satoru thought the rumors were exaggerated. There were no second mouths or two faces. Oh, his second pair of eyes were really cute. So small. Satoru wished his own extra eyes looked like that.

While Satoru was staring 'respectfully', squeezing the muscles here and there, Sukuna's expression was a mix of confusion, anger and embarrassment. Satoru found it hilarious. Satoru snickered and the small laugh echoed throughout the shrine.

The shrine had become dead silent except for Satoru's laugh. It was then Satoru took the time to look at the surroundings and realized they were not alone.

The biwa and koto players were frozen in place, not daring to move. Their fingers hovered just above the strings, as if a single note would summon their doom. The silk-clad dancers, who moments ago had swayed gracefully, now stood trembling. Their wide eyes glistened with unspoken terror. The soft rustle of their robes was the only sound as they shuffled back in unison, desperate to avoid his gaze. Their instincts were telling them to run but they knew leaving before getting dismissed would be a death penalty.

Oh, who were they kidding? They were going to be dead either way. Sukuna's fury could level mountains, and anyone witnessing his humiliation would not survive. The young performers thought hopelessly.

And they were right about Sukuna's rage. Not because of being attacked. Sukuna was actually quite intrigued about how someone managed to achieve this feat. But Sukuna was pissed, because he was attacked right in front of multiple witnesses in such an undignified way.

Getting manhandled and thrown out of his throne? Tumbling down with his back on the ground? Getting pinned down and getting laughed at in his own shrine? That was one of the most embarrassing things that had happened to him. Yet, it happened right in front of all these weaklings!
