FLASHBACK
NEW YORK
The streets of New York buzzed with hushed conversations and murmurs of disbelief. Spider-Man, once the city's beloved hero, had become a symbol of fear, a terrorist in the eyes of the very people he had sworn to protect. Headlines screamed accusations, and every café buzzed with opinions on the fall from grace of the wall-crawler.
In a small café tucked away on a busy corner, two women sat opposite each other, their demeanor contrasting sharply with the world outside. One had striking red hair, her face partially obscured by the low brim of a hat, and the other sported tousled blonde locks that framed a confident smile.
"Here," the redhead said, sliding an envelope across the table. Her voice was low, cautious. "This is everything we have on Parker Industries."
Felicia Hardy, the blonde, reached for the envelope, her brow furrowing with curiosity. "You're really going through with this, Mary?"
Maria Hill, disguised as Mary, nodded. "We need to get to the bottom of this. While Otto had control over Peter, I suspect he might have been involved in something bigger, something that could prove Peter's innocence."
Felicia opened the envelope, scanning the contents. Her heart raced as she absorbed the information. "You want me to infiltrate the lab while he was hijacking Peter's mind?"
"It's the only way to gather evidence," Maria urged, her voice steady. "If we can find something... anything, that shows Peter wasn't in control, we might be able to clear his name. He's been wrongfully imprisoned in the RAFT, labeled a criminal by those he trusted most."
Felicia's expression hardened as she considered the stakes. "You really think this will work? Everyone believes he's a monster now."
"People are quick to judge," Maria replied, a fire igniting in her eyes. "But you know the truth, Felicia. You know what he's capable of, and what he's not. If we don't do this, he'll rot in there, forgotten by everyone, including the ones who once called him a friend."
Felicia took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the mission settle upon her. "Alright. I'll do it. But this isn't going to be easy. I'll need help, and I'll have to stay under the radar."
"Just remember: trust no one," Maria cautioned, her tone serious. "You're in a dangerous game, and there are eyes everywhere."
As they exchanged final words, Felicia felt a renewed sense of purpose ignite within her. She slipped the envelope into her bag, a plan forming in her mind. In a city that had turned its back on Spider-Man, she would do everything in her power to uncover the truth.
Outside, the noise of the city faded, but the whispers about Spider-Man continued, a haunting reminder of the hero who had fallen from grace. Little did they know, the fight to reclaim his name was just beginning.
