The day of the wedding was finally approaching, and the Taneja household was a whirlwind of activity. Twinkle was caught up in a storm of fitting lehengas, picking out jewelry, and dealing with her family’s excitement. It felt as if every single person in her family was determined to make this wedding perfect, while Twinkle just wanted to survive it.

As she stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the emerald necklace that Kunj's mother had gifted her, she couldn't help but think about him. Kunj Sarna—her husband-to-be—was simultaneously the source of her irritation and her amusement.

“Twinkle, jaldi aao! Kunj ka family function hai, sab ready ho gaye hain!” her mom called from downstairs.

“Arey, abhi aayi!” Twinkle yelled back, quickly giving her reflection one last look before heading down.

At the Sarna Mansion

Kunj was already at his home, preparing for the function. His mother was fussing over him, adjusting his kurta and making sure he looked presentable.

“Kunj, tumhe bilkul serious rehna hai. Yeh function bahut important hai, aur humare saare relatives aayenge,” his mother insisted, smoothing out the wrinkles on his kurta.

Kunj smirked. “Maa, serious hone se mujhe kya milega? Sabko sirf maza chahiye.”

His mother shook her head. “Bas apni behaviours pe dhyan do. Aur Twinkle ke saath thoda friendly raho.”

“Friendly?” Kunj laughed. “Maa, yeh dosti nahi, yeh toh dushmani hai!”

But as he left the house, Kunj couldn’t shake off the thought of Twinkle. The playful banter had turned into something more complicated, and he was curious about how the evening would unfold.

The Family Function

When Twinkle arrived at the Sarna mansion, the atmosphere was vibrant and full of laughter. The music was playing, and everyone was enjoying the pre-wedding festivities. Twinkle scanned the room and spotted Kunj, who was surrounded by his friends, looking effortlessly charming as always.

She felt a mix of irritation and amusement at the sight. Gathering her courage, she approached him, her eyes narrowing. “Kya tumhare doston se aur bhi jokes sunne hain?”

Kunj turned, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Aur tumhe kya chahiye, Twinkle? Mere doston ki company ya mere taunts?”

“Dono hi nahi! Bas thoda peace chahiye mujhe,” she replied, crossing her arms.

Kunj laughed. “Peace aur tum? Impossible combination. Tumhe toh drama chahiye, kyunki tabhi toh life interesting hoti hai.”

Twinkle shot him a look. “Drama ka matlab tum ho, Kunj Sarna.”

“Me? Drama? Main toh sirf reality show banata hoon,” he said with a smirk, leaning closer. “Jahan tum heroine ho, aur main villain.”

“Villain? Ha! Tumhe toh lead bhi nahi milta, Kunj. Main lead hoon, aur tum mere dosti ke saath thoda chill karne wale sidekick ho,” she retorted, flipping her hair.

Kunj grinned, clearly enjoying this back-and-forth. “Oh really? Toh phir kya tum mere liye koi saari film recommend karogi?”

“Bilkul! ‘Koi Mil Gaya’—kyunki tumhe toh main kabhi nahi mil sakti,” Twinkle shot back.

“Touché!” Kunj exclaimed, feigning shock. “Yeh toh personal attack hai. Thoda samay do, Twinkle. Main tumhe prove karunga ki main kisi aur movie ka hero banne layak hoon.”

Twinkle raised an eyebrow. “Main toh dekhti hoon. Lekin abhi ke liye, mujhe sirf dinner chahiye.”

Dinner Time

As the dinner was served, both families gathered around the large table, filled with delicious Indian dishes. The aroma wafting through the air was enticing, but Twinkle was more focused on the chaos around her.

“Chalo, ek toast to banta hai! Aaj ki shaadi ki shaadi tak ke safar ka,” Kunj’s dad announced, raising his glass.

Everyone cheered, and Twinkle clinked glasses with Kunj, who leaned in closer. “Toh, yeh hai tumhare choti choti dosti ka intezaar,” he whispered, smirking.

“Tumhare intezaar ka toh koi sense nahi hai,” Twinkle replied, rolling her eyes.

“Arey, yaar! Tum toh har conversation ko mujhe irritate karne ka challenge bana deti ho,” Kunj laughed, leaning back in his chair.

“Bhai, main hoon toh yahi,” Twinkle replied playfully. “Aur tumse toh koi alag ki umeed bhi nahi hai.”

“Ek minute, ek minute! Kya main nahi hoon? Tumhe toh kehna padta hai ki main perfect hoon,” Kunj teased.

“Perfect? Tumhari wajah se toh mere parents ki expectations badh gaye hain,” Twinkle shot back.

Kunj winked. “Expectations? Mujhe toh bas tumhe irritate karna pasand hai. Woh toh entertainment hai.”

After Dinner

As the night went on, the lights twinkled, and laughter filled the air. Kunj and Twinkle found themselves at the edge of the terrace, away from the crowd.

“Bohot shor hai, na?” Kunj said, leaning against the railing, looking out at the night sky.

“Hmm... Lekin tum toh shor se khush ho,” Twinkle replied, joining him.

Kunj looked sideways at her. “Mujhe lagta hai tumne mujhe samajhne ki koshish nahi ki. Main sirf fun kar raha hoon. Tumhari wajah se life mein zindagi hai.”

Twinkle paused, surprised by his honesty. “Mujhe tumse koi ummeed nahi thi, Kunj. Tum toh sirf dikhawa karte ho.”

“Dikhawa nahi, just a playful side,” he said, a slight smile on his face. “Aur tum bhi toh waise ho.”

Twinkle shook her head, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of agreeing. “Nahi, main serious hoon. Tum mere dosti ke liye main yeh sab karke time waste mat karo.”

“Serious? Twinkle, zindagi mein thoda fun toh hona chahiye,” Kunj replied, leaning closer. “Tumhaare face pe woh khushi dekhne ka maza hai. Main thoda boredom door karne ka plan bana raha hoon.”

“Boredom? Tum toh mere dimag ko confuse karte ho,” Twinkle said, exasperated but secretly amused.

“Confusion ya clarity, wo toh tumhare haath mein hai,” Kunj replied, smirking.

A Moment of Understanding

For a moment, they both fell silent, simply enjoying the night air. Twinkle glanced at Kunj, realizing that there was something oddly comforting about their bickering. It was like a weird dance they had perfected over the years.

“Waise, shaadi ke baad kya plan hai? Mere ghar mein rehna hoga?” Kunj asked casually, breaking the silence.

Twinkle turned to him, her expression serious. “Pehle mujhe yeh shaadi accept karna padega, Kunj. Abhi tak toh sirf ek formality hai.”

Kunj looked at her, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. “Tumhare liye mushkil hai?”

Twinkle sighed. “Haan, mujhe laga yeh sab kabhi nahi hoga. Lekin ab toh ho gaya hai, aur mujhe issi ke saath adjust karna padega.”

Kunj nodded. “Adjustments toh hamesha hote hain, chahe koi bhi relationship ho. Agar hum dono yeh kar paye, toh shayad yeh journey thoda interesting ho jayegi.”

Twinkle glanced at him, surprised by his words. “Kyun, Kunj? Kya tumhe yeh relationship mein thoda hope hai?”

Kunj smiled lightly. “Hope hai toh maine kaha, kyunki tumhara yeh face irritation ke saath-saath kuch aur bhi express kar raha hai.”

Twinkle rolled her eyes but couldn’t help smiling. “Tum bilkul nahi badalte.”

“Main kyun badalun? Main toh sabko entertain karne aaya hoon!” he joked, but there was a sincerity in his voice.
