The sun was setting, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink as Twinkle and Kunj prepared for a cozy evening at home. The living room was filled with the warm glow of fairy lights, and the aroma of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air.
Twinkle was in high spirits, humming softly as she arranged the cushions on the couch. “Kunj, this place looks amazing!” she said, stepping back to admire their handiwork.
“Just wait until you taste the cookies,” Kunj replied, emerging from the kitchen with a proud grin. “I think I’ve outdone myself this time!”
Twinkle laughed, her heart swelling with affection for him. “If they taste as good as they smell, we’re in for a treat!”
As they settled down on the couch, Kunj grabbed a plate of cookies and handed it to her. Twinkle took a bite, savoring the sweetness. “Mmm! These are delicious!” she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.
But just as she took another bite, a wave of dizziness washed over her. She blinked, feeling the room spin slightly. “Uh, Kunj…” she began, her voice trailing off.
Kunj looked up, concern etching his features. “What’s wrong, Twinkle?”
“I… I don’t feel so good,” she said, trying to shake off the feeling. “Just a little dizzy.”
Kunj immediately put down the plate and moved closer to her, his hand resting on her forehead. “You feel warm. Have you been drinking enough water today?”
Twinkle nodded, but her stomach churned, and she felt a sudden wave of nausea. “I think I might be—”
Before she could finish her sentence, she bolted to the bathroom, Kunj hot on her heels. As soon as she reached the toilet, she doubled over, feeling the contents of her stomach threaten to spill.
“Twinkle!” Kunj’s voice was filled with panic as he held her hair back. “Are you okay?”
“I’m… I’m fine,” she managed to say between retches. But deep down, she felt anything but fine. After a few moments, she finally caught her breath and sat back against the cool tiles, feeling Kunj’s steady presence beside her.
“Maybe I overdid it with the cookies,” Kunj said, trying to lighten the mood. “I’ll take full responsibility for this.”
Twinkle managed a weak smile, grateful for his concern. “I don’t think it was the cookies,” she said, her voice shaky. “I just… I don’t know.”
Kunj helped her up, guiding her to the sink where she rinsed her mouth. “Let’s sit down for a bit, okay?” He led her back to the living room and settled her on the couch, grabbing a glass of water. “Here, sip this slowly.”
Twinkle took small sips, focusing on the cool liquid as it eased her throat. “Thanks, Kunj,” she said, leaning back against the cushions.
Kunj sat beside her, his eyes searching her face. “Do you want me to call a doctor?”
“No, no,” she said quickly. “I think it was just a moment of dizziness. I’ll be fine in a minute.”
Just then, her phone buzzed, and she glanced at the screen. It was a message from her mom.
LEELA MAA : Hope you’re both doing well! Let me know if you need anything!
Twinkle smiled, but the message also reminded her of her mother’s earlier suggestion about family. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.
Kunj noticed her expression. “What is it?” he asked gently.
“Just my mom checking in,” she replied, then hesitated before adding, “She’s been really excited about the idea of us starting a family.”
