Me and Jihu would enter through the gym doors. Everyone was sitting down in their gym clothes, staring at us walking in.
I'd notice Nari staring extra hard. I guess Jihu didn't realize as he was just smiling and looking at Nari. Nari's vibe would've changed again and would wave at Jihu.
"Jihu! Jihu! Over here!" Nari would say, waving frantically at Jihu. Jihu's ears would go red. "coming!.." He'd say, nervously. Jihu would look at me and I would signal him to go over to her.
He'd look right back around at Nari and would walk over to her and sit down and chat with her. I'd notice somebody wave at me. "Hey, over here!" Naeun says. I would smile and walk over to both Naeun and Minji. Just what would I do without them, really.
I'd sit down next to them. "Hey, what are we gonna be doing for gym?" I'd say. "Oh! We're gonna be practicing volleyball today!" Minji says. As soon as she'd finish her sentence the gym teacher would walk in with a net full of volleyballs.
"Alright you kids. Today we'll be playing more so practicing volleyball. I myself will be assigning partners since I know some of you tend to slack off with your friends." He'd say, looking straight at Minji and Naeun. Naeun and Minji would avoid his gaze and look at eachother and snicker quietly. The gym teacher would assign 1 boy and 1 girl into a pair.
"Hey I remember this moment.." I would say staring at Jihu and Nari. "Remember what, Soyeon?" Naeun would say looking at me. "Ah! Nothing! Just getting some kind of.. Deja vu?" I would say, stuttering across my words. "Oh! Well we all get Deja vu.. I feel you Soyeon!" Naeun would say. She would turn back to Minji and continue chatting with her. I would sigh of relief. I remembered this moment in the game completely! Nari and Jihu would get paired into a group. Well that's obvious considering they're the main characters after all. But this moment led to the second leads the extreme jealousy and possessiveness towards Nari.
If I remember clearly, I believe Chen, would grab Nari arm tightly and Jihu would push him causing a fight to occur. "Alright next pair, Daeyang and.. Minji" the teacher would say, reading his paper with names on it. I would stare and Minji standing up and walking over to Daeyang with a smile on her face.
Am I annoyed..? Why am I annoyed?? This is supposed to be my best friend.
But this isn't my best friend. This isn't even my life. Just who am I exactly? I don't even know my n—
"Soyeon and Chen! And Jihu and Nari for the final pair." I'd snap out it. "Wait huh-" before I could finish my thought process, Chen would already be standing up looking right at me with a volleyball in his hand. "You just gonna sit there? Hurry up and stand up." Chen would say. Chen would turn around and would walk over to an area of the gym which was clear and I would stand up and speed walk over to him.
He'd start passing the ball to me and I would pass it back. "Is this seriously what we're doing the whole time.." I would say, mumbling to myself. "I guess so, but we're lucky he hasn't had us any warmups. My older brother told me his warmups are brutal." Chen would say, pausing passing the ball and would straight at me. Sh**. I didn't think he was gonna hear me.
I would continue the conversation. "Ah! I didn't know you had a brother, he went here?" I would say, avoiding eye contact. "Yeah. Well I did." He would say. I'd notice him pause on the word 'did' and his eyes would widen before shutting that expression down immediately. Did? What does he mean by did? Did he pass away? Does he just not 'claim' him. Why wasn't this mentioned in the game? "
Oh.. ha I see.." I would say, still avoiding his gaze awkwardly. "You know, I can't really tell why you're so uncomfortable with me." Chen would say. He'd place the ball around his arm and shoot a 'I'm not passing this ball unless you tell me why' look.
Was I really that obvious.. I mean, I know I wasn't as comfortable with him compared to my classmates, but I didn't think he would notice. "What do you m-" "You know what I mean. Did you know my brother? Don't just assume I'm like him cause we're related.—"

"-Cause I'm not."
Chen would say coldly, dropping the ball and walking away. My head would follow his direction in disbelief. What the actual f*** just happened?
Is or was his brother some type of gangster? Well now he definitely doesn't like me. I'd grab his arm as he'd walk away and he'd stop and turn his head at me.
"It's not what you think. I swear. I don't know your brother and I shouldn't have judged you from first glance, I hope you can forgive me." I'd say. I'd look down from embarrassment as I'd say this. Why did I even feel the need to apologize? There wasn't any point of me doing so. I guess I just felt like it was necessary.
Chen would turn to me and pat my head and put his hands in his pockets. "Okay. I forgive you." Chen would say. He'd walk away and take his hands out of his pocket to put his headphones on. I guess I didn't expect him to forgive me. At all. Chen just seemed like the type to hold grudges according to the game.
"Maybe he isn't exactly as the game proclaimed him to be." I'd mumble to myself. Well no time for that since I'm as good as late! I'd run to the gym door and open it.
I'd see Minji and Daeyang laughing together. Daeyang would pat Minji on the head with a smile on his face.
They'd both stop smiling and Minji would pull him in closer. I'd close the door, turn the other way, and head out the back door. I didn't want to watch the rest of it.
I knew where it was going anyways. I guess I should've just expected it.
