Ghosting

Knock Knock! I spring awake at the sound of the front door. I look to my right and don't see Verena. I touch the spot she had occupied and it's cold telling me she's been out of bed for a while. I get up from the bed to put on my clothes and go to the bathroom. "Verena?" I call out and furrow my brows when I don't see her or hear any sign that she's in the house. Knock Knock! "Yeah I'm coming!" I yell and walk towards the door still searching for her. I open the door and my eyes go wide at my friends.

"Well hey bitch." Maira says and I look at the driveway seeing her car has replaced Verenas. Where'd she go? "Uh looking for something?"

I shake my head. "Uh no what's are you guys doing here?" I ask.

She scoffs. "You ditched school and didn't tell us." Ohhh.

"Yeah traitor we could've been ditching together." Lucas says and I sigh.

"I'm sorry. I lost track of time and by the time I realized, I was already missing first class so I decided not to come." I say and they nod.

"Are you ok? Have you been sleeping all day?" Maira asks and I nod and let them come in. We walk into the kitchen and her brows furrowed. "You were drinking?" She asks and I tilt my head until she lifts the glass from last night that I forgot to pour out.

I sigh and nod. "Uh yeah I was. But I stopped after the second glass. I just forgot to pour that one out."

Her eyes soften. "What happened?"

"Being home alone just sparked up too many thoughts at once and then the Verena situation, I got overwhelmed." I say honestly and they nod.

"You could've called us Talia, we would've been here within the second." Lucas says and I nod.

"Yeah I know. But I didn't get drunk I swear." I say and they raise their brows.

"How'd you do that? I mean it usually takes atleast after 5 for you to even consider stopping." Lucas says and I sigh.

"Uh Verena texted asking me to come over." Their eyes go wide. "But I told her I couldn't because I had been drinking and so she came over here."

"Whoah wait a minute. Ms. Romano was here last night?" I nod. "Wait she stayed over?" I nod again. "Yo! That's wassup!" Lucas says dapping me up.

"It's not that big of a deal. She needed me and I was there."

"So when did she leave?" I shrug. "Well she obviously left after you two had breakfast." Maira says referring to the dishes in the sink I stopped Verena from washing.

"Uh she left a while ago. I was sleep so I don't know when or why." I say looking down at the island.

"What's wrong?"

I look up. "We um-we had sex." Their mouths go agape.

"Oh." They both say in sync and I nod. "Um what's wrong with that? Were you bad?" Sge asks.

I furrow my brows. "No I wasn't bad, atleast according to her." They smirk. "No she just didn't let me know she was leaving so I feel-

"Dirty?" Lucas finishes and I nod. "Don't feel dirty she probably had to do something and didn't want to wake you up." He says and I shrug.

"Yeah I guess."

"You don't think she regrets it do you?" Maira asks and I sigh nodding. "Oh babe." She comes over to hug me. "I doubt that. Lucas is right she probably just didn't want to wake you."

"Maybe."

"Have you texted her?" I shake my head. "Well do it." I take my phone out my pocket and go to our messages that's bare of anything telling me she left or doesn't regret it.
