Thursday
Yesterday was interesting. Verena never called back and when I texted, she didn't reply so I don't know what happened or she just lost track of time with Victoria when she came by. Either way, I just have to get through this day and then we can finally have our date. It feels like it's been forever since I asked and since our first kiss and yet it was only Monday. God a lot can happen in a week. I get dressed for school in a white collar shirt and I put a blue sweater over it to let the collar out. I pair it with tan cargo pants and white air forces and my silver jewelry. I head out and drive to school.
I pull up and see Sierra waiting as her blonde hair blows in the wind and she's wearing the black Nike jacket I gave her with black jeans and air forces like mine. God what now? I get out the car and grab my bag putting it on as I walk up to her. "Uh what's up Sierra?"
She takes a breath. "I want to apologize for everything I did."
"Uh ok? Why?" I ask suspicious.
"Because I realize I'm a bitch." I nod. "I was jealous of you and Mairas friendship because she was my friend first before you moved here and I thought when she was going through her phase before Lucas, that you two would get together." I sigh and nod.
"Yeah I understand. But it doesn't excuse you for what you did Sierra. You cheated on me and then you made it seem like it was my fault." She nods.
"I know and again I'm sorry."
"What was this conversation for exactly Sierra?"
"Everything you tell me just makes me realize how bad of a person I was to you. And I'm sorry."
"Alright I forgive you." She smiles. "But this doesn't mean I will want to get back together."
She nods. "Are-" I tilt my head. "Are you talking to someone else?"
I let my eyes wander and see Verena getting out her car. She has on a full black pantsuit and black overcoat and scarf. Mysterious. Her green eyes look lighter as the cold starts breezing through and they meet mine. Her brows furrow and I tilt my head until realizing-I'm standing with Sierra. She looks away and heads inside. Shit. "Uh yes I am Sierra. And I want to see where it goes."
She nods. "And she's fine with you going to homecoming with your ex?"
"Not exactly but she's aware of it."
"Oh ok well sounds like a secure girl." Woman.
"Uh yeah. Look I gotta go but thanks for the apology. See you Saturday for the dance." I say and she nods and I head inside after Verena. "Ms. Romano!" I call out and she keeps walking. Fuck. I see Lucas and Maira and walk to them by our lockers. "What's up guys?" I sigh.
"Us? What's up with you and Verena?" Lucas asks lowly.
"Uh," I look at the both of them. "She saw Sierra and I talking outside."
Their eyes pop out. "Why?!" Maira asks.
I groan and shrug. "She wanted to apologize and she sounded sincere but then I saw Verena and then she saw me and now she's not talking to me."
"You need to explain that to her I mean you guys have your date tomorrow."
I sigh. "I don't even know if that's still a thing." They look at me confused. "Last night we had an awkward conversation."
"About?"
"Well I asked her if she had siblings and she said yes but then she said something that caught me off guard." They nod telling me to continue. "She said to prepare to be questioned by her brothers. As in meet them."
