"Don't you run away again, you old hag. I have my answer for you. I will give it when you are standing in front of me as yourself," I ground out.

Present

I could feel my power demanding to go crazy in the micro fluctuations it kept spiking me with all over my body. I let my nails elongate into sharp points as black bled from each nail bed all the way to the tip of each nail. A minor transformation but a welcome one to keep my power in some semblance of calm.

I stuffed my hands into my pockets as I moved toward the door. I was not about to rebuild another tavern because of a Morningstar getting upset. It was annoying enough having to put everything back together once not to mention the absolutely obscene amount of magic it takes up.

"That old hag really has the worst timing, ya know?" I grumbled, breaking up the heavy silence that had ensued. "I'll deal with her and be back in a flash, okay?"

"Not alone, you're not," King stated, falling into step next to me with the 12 following his lead behind us. I rolled my eyes but didn't argue.

"Worrywart." He just shook his head. The doors were opened wide. A fierce wind blew in as we approached. One for theatrics then, hm? How in character. My magic flickered about my form as I used it to change outfits as we walked.

This was not a conversation I wanted to have in my ninja gear. Time for some fun. Instead, I swapped to black combat boots that covered my ankles and had steel toes, light blue short shorts, and a black crop top. My nails went back to their normal size and color as well.

"I don't like this, Rin," Kurama mumbled. She was right, something was up. It always was when it came to this hag. Whatever was happening now was giving me a bad feeling.

She stood alone in the middle of the street. Her long silver hair braided tightly behind her but came over the shoulder of her black blazer.

"Hag. Considering you arrived so quickly, I can assume that we in agreement this needs to be settled now, yes?" I asked.

"You still don't like me, do you, girl? Fine. You are correct in that assumption. Let's talk terms."

"Tell me why you want the Cohort gone first." She stiffened. Not something you would do when we spoke about the code beforehand. Not the hag I know then.

"They have become a nuisance I do not need." Crossed arms and slightly wider stance. Tch. How pathetic was their information gathering to not know this was a deal already made. I pulled the flower from my hair and lit it on fire.

"What is it, child?" Meredith asked as the ashes from the flower swirled out of my palm and around her as she appeared.

"Knew it wasn't you. Requesting permission to kill the imposter, miss." She set one hand in the crook of an elbow as the other went to her chin as she took a moment to think. A wicked grin formed.

"I say 'have fun' with the condition that the city isn't destroyed completely. Quite annoying how little they know, isn't it?"

"I will see it done." I bowed at the waist. She was not one I wanted to have upset with me. Especially with how far her influence ran across the Nine Realms.

I felt my canines and nails start to elongate as I moved to kick the poser. They blocked it but their transformation was slowly coming undone. I would have to end this without losing control. It would be difficult considering what happened last time.

I would need Garm to work with me. There was no going back if I lost my head again. Well, I wouldn't be free that was for certain but I couldn't say for certain what else would happen. I would maintain control even if it meant not fully transforming like I might need to.
