The next match was announced, and this time, it was Daichi, a powerhouse from the Land of Lightning. Known for his control over Lightning Release and his raw speed, Daichi had earned his spot in the tournament through a series of lightning-fast victories. He was confident, intense, and brimming with pride, sure that no one could match his abilities.
As he stepped into the arena, the crowd hushed in anticipation. The Land of Lightning was known for producing some of the strongest shinobi, and Daichi was a prime example. With his sharp, angular features and lightning-themed armor, he was the epitome of seriousness.
But Aika, on the other hand, was anything but serious. Skipping into the arena with an exaggerated yawn, she was twirling a small umbrella, dressed in a slightly more flamboyant outfit than usual—bright colors that clashed horribly but seemed to only add to her oddball charm.
The proctor raised his hand to begin the fight. But before he could even say the word, Aika chimed in playfully, "Let's make this one... shocking!" She winked at Daichi, who rolled his eyes, clearly unimpressed by her antics.
As soon as the proctor gave the signal, Daichi wasted no time. He formed hand seals at lightning speed, his body crackling with blue energy. "Lightning Release: Thunderbolt Barrage!" he shouted, sending a barrage of powerful lightning bolts flying directly at Aika.
The attack was meant to overwhelm her, but Aika didn't even flinch. With a wave of her hand, the bolts veered off course and transformed mid-air. What were once deadly arcs of electricity became... giant, buzzing neon bees. Each "bee" had cartoonish faces and ridiculous, floppy wings, and instead of attacking Aika, they circled around Daichi, swarming him harmlessly.
Daichi was momentarily confused, but his frustration was clear. "What... what is this?!"
Aika shrugged, her umbrella now somehow serving as a cup for tea, which she sipped from. "I thought you'd appreciate the 'buzz' you brought with you. No need to get stung!"
Frustrated by his failed attack (like any other participant), Daichi tried to close the distance. He dashed forward, moving at lightning speed, determined to strike Aika physically. But before he could reach her, Aika made a simple hand seal, and the entire field shimmered.
Suddenly, Daichi's entire body stopped mid-charge. His once cool, slicked-back hair started to... rise, like he'd stuck his finger in a light socket. But it didn't stop there. His hair kept growing, shooting up in every direction in long, tangled strands. By the time he stopped to take notice, Daichi looked like a human-sized ball of static-charged hair.
He blinked, completely disoriented as his hair floated wildly in the air. The crowd burst into laughter, seeing the once-proud shinobi now resembling a walking electrical disaster.
Aika took another sip from her tea. "Wow, looks like your energy really does go to your head. Need a comb?"
Daichi growled and formed another set of hand seals. "Enough games! Lightning Release: Lightning Prison!" he roared.
The air around Aika crackled with intense energy as bolts of lightning formed into a tight net, meant to trap her in place. The cage of energy sizzled, humming dangerously, ready to incapacitate anyone within it.
But Aika wasn't impressed.
With a snap of her fingers, the dangerous-looking lightning net... turned into a set of colorful, inflated balloons. Each balloon had silly faces drawn on them, complete with party hats and streamers, bobbing harmlessly around her.
