Surprises

We left the diner feeling lazy wanting to do nothing but lay around and play video games. We make it back to my house and go into the living room. "Do you have snacks?" Lucas asks.

"Stop acting like you don't basically live here." I say and he sucks his teeth and goes into the kitchen to find snacks.

"Talia?" Maira calls for me as I lay on the rug by the fire place and she sits on the couch. I hum in response and look at her when she doesn't say anything.

I furrow my brows when she's playing with her rings on her fingers. "What's up Maira?"

Her eyes meet mine. "Um I think I might be pregnant." My expression softens in surprise.

"What?" She nods. "Is it Lucas's?"

She sighs and nods. "Yes. I missed my period three days ago."

I sit up and crawl to her kneeling in front of her. "Does he know?" She shakes her head immediately and I see her eyes watering. "Hey what's wrong?"

She wipes her eyes. "Um I wasn't ready to be a mom Talia. And I don't think Lucas is ready to be a dad especially with everything going on with his mom." I sigh and nod.

"Do you not want it?" She shrugs. "Well ok let's just take a test first. It could just be hormones going haywire let's not assume alright. But," her red shot eyes meet mine. "You have to tell Lucas just incase."

"I can't tell him without knowing he'll panic." She whisper yells and I sigh. "I'll take the test and then tell him if it's positive. If not then there will be no point." I shrug.

"It's up to you Maira. I'll support you in no matter what you do." She nods and then wipes her eyes and I hug her.

"So I found Cool Ranch Doritos and sour patch kids." Lucas says coming in and we turn to him. "Hey what's wrong?" He asks and I look at Maira and she's smiling at him.

"She just missed you. Who knew she was clingy right?" I try to joke and they chuckle. He walks over and sits next to her and hugs her.

"I'm here baby. Here I got you candy." He says handing her the sour patch kids.

"Thank you." She says and he kisses her forehead and then we start watching House of the Dragon as we eat the snacks.

2 Hours Later

"17,18,19,20!"

"Chubby bunny." Lucas somehow says clearly with 20 marshmallows in his mouth filling his cheeks.

"That's ridiculous you really do have a fat head." I joke and chews on them and swallows drinking water. Maira and I cringe at the disgusting act.

"You had those in your mouth for over 2 minutes babe that's disgusting." Maira says and he attacks her with kisses all over her face with remnants of marshmallows on his mouth. "Lucas stop!"

Knock knock! The sound of the door makes the laughter and playing seize. "What time is it?" Lucas asks and I shrug still not having my phone. I actually stopped thinking about Verena after Maira broke the news. He takes my phone out his pocket and hands it to me. 7 pm.

Knock knock! "Coming!" I yell to the person and they start cleaning up. I get up and go to the door. I open it and my eyes immediately trail up the familiar figure that's in black heels, a black skim dress that has a slit going up her left thigh with a black trench coat over it opened. I meet her face that has red matte lipstick that fill her lips and mascara that pop out her light green eyes and her brown long hair is in a side part slick back bun. "Oh." Is all I get out.

"Hey." She says and her speaking takes me out my trance realizing she's actually here.

"Hey? That's all you have to say?" I say and she sighs .
