Chapter 13

“Yung akala mo alam mo yung plot twist
Pero hindi pala.”

Ang sakit ng ulo ko.

Eh paano ba naman hindi ako nakatulog buong magdamag. I still think of Kate and everything that is happening between us.

Alam ko na mali dahil may asawa na sya kaya hanggat kaya ko e pipigilan ko.

But who I'm kidding of? Nandito ako bahay nya at for sure mahihirapan akong umiiwas.

Agh.

I hate this.

Sana maayos na ang passport ko at visa para makauwi na ako ng Pilipinas.

It's 6 in the morning. Tumayo na ako na nagluto ng breakfast - a Filipino breakfast.

Kamiss eh.

Buti nalang may mga stock si Kate na mga dried fish at pusit. I also cook egg , hotdog, bacon and fried rice - fresh orange juice.

"You wake up early."

Napatalon ako sa gulat dahil biglang nagsalita si Kate. "Jesus Christ! You startled me."

Hindi ako lumilingon.

I still feel shy.

"You didn't sleep?" Sige lang sya sa pagtatanong.

At paano nya nalaman aber?

"Yeah." Hindi na ako nagsinungaling.

What for? Hindi na kami bata para maglaro ng hide and seek - nasa era na tayo na we must face the consequences of our action.

"Why?" As if she didn't know why.

Kumuha ako ng tasa. "Do you want coffee?" I'm waiting for her answer habang nagsasalin ako ng tubig na mainit. "Or tea?"

"You." Halos nasa tenga ko na ang labi nya.

Grabe, nagsitayuan ang balahibo sa katawan ko. "Kate." Parang kinakapos ako ng hininga. "What are you doing?"

But instead of answering me, niyakap pa ako ni Kate from behind and press her forehead against my shoulder. "I'm just tired Charlotte."

"Get some more sleep kung pagod ka pa..." I suggest.

Medyo nakalma din ako dahil wala naman syang ginawa na kung ano.

"It's not like that." Sagot ni Kate. "I'm tired of being strong all the time."

Now, my guards are down. "And how can i help you?"

Lalo nyang hinigpitan ang yakap sa kapit sa bewang ko. "A kiss may help."

I roll my eyes. "Kate." I don't know what to feel exactly. I want to kiss her so bad but she is freaking married. "What are you doing this to me?"

"Charlotte.." Her voice shakes. "Just.."

I untied her arms around my waist as i turn around and face -- and that my biggest mistake because Kate is slightly crying.

My heartache by just the sight of it.

"What is wrong?" I'm so concerned. "Did something happened?"

Pero umiling sya habang pinupunasan ang luha nya. "Nothing, just tired and all."

"Hey it's okay." Bulong ko kay Kate.

Kate is a strong woman, kita naman sa personality nya, the way she present herself -- Pero minsan yong mga taong katulad nya ay kailangan din ng masasandalan.

It can be Sadie.

And Stella.

But where she is? Wala.
