It had been a peaceful few weeks since they returned to the cabin in the woods. With the growing chill of winter settling into the forest, the remote location provided a sense of safety and quiet that Y/n and the tall brunette had long craved. Taeho was as cheerful as ever, and despite the occasional tension from their past, Y/n and the tall brunette were beginning to settle into the rhythm of their life together. Furthermore, Namjoon had left just days ago, after ensuring everything between Y/n and the tall brunette was stable. He had spent some time trying to make sense of the chaotic twists their lives had taken, but after seeing the couple navigate through their complicated relationship, he decided to shift back to London. He reassured Y/n that he would always be available for her, but it was time for him to return to his own life. Now that Namjoon was gone, Jin had decided to take advantage of the winter break. He'd been feeling restless and wanted to take Taeho on a small vacation to enjoy the snowy season. Jin was like a second father to Taeho, and the boy adored him. After the recent dangers they'd faced, it seemed like a perfect opportunity for some fresh air, relaxation, and bonding time.
"Hey buddy, how are you doing?" Jin gave a high fie to an excited Taeho.
"I'm so good uncle Jinnie, when are we leaving. I don't like staying at home." Taeho replied while jumping on his little feet.
Jin grabbed him by the waist and threw him up in the air, making him laugh loudly. Hearing her son giggle like that Y/n entered the living room. "Hello oppa, it's been a while since I saw you."
"I was out of town Y/n. I hope everything is fine between you and Kookie. I heard Joon flew back to London." Jin kept Taeho on the floor as he made his way towards the soft couch.
"Taeho go pack your bags." Y/n ordered her precious baby boy who rushed towards his room.
"There was a medical emergency hence oppa had to rush back. How's Jimin?" Y/n questions.
"Jimin is absolutely great. We just spoke. He'll come to pick us up once we reach the airport." Jin informed the timid mother.
"Don't take me wrong oppa but you know how careful we are with Taeho. I hope this trip should not put him in any sort of danger."
"Y/n, I'll handle it. I've asked some officers to join me in this trip so you need not worry about his safety. Rest assured."
"If you say so I'll send him."
"Where's Kookie? He asked me to come early yet he isn't here to greet me."
"He went to get some groceries. I'll just message him to come early." Y/n replied.
"Thanks. I'll help Taeho pack his stuff."
"Yes please. I'll be in the kitchen, call me if both of you need any assistance." Y/n chuckled as she stood up from her seat.
"Definitely!" Jin replied as he walked towards Taeho's tiny room.
Tonight, they had enjoyed a lavish dinner together, a warm farewell before Jin and Taeho left for their week-long trip. The cabin was filled with laughter as Jin shared stories, and Taeho excitedly packed his tiny suitcase. Y/n couldn't help but smile at the sight, grateful for the happiness and stability that had returned to their lives. After they said their goodbyes and Jin drove off with Taeho, the cabin felt unusually quiet. The warmth of the fireplace crackled in the background, but Y/n found herself lost in thought as she stood at the kitchen sink, doing the dishes. She had thrown on a rusty pink lace negligee earlier, something comfortable to wear after the long evening, though it had ended up getting slightly damp from the water and dish soap as she worked. The steam from the water fogged up the window slightly, and Y/n felt the cool night air nip at her exposed skin. She was a bit sweaty from standing over the hot water for so long, and the quiet solitude of the cabin gave her plenty of time to reflect.
