Y/N sat by the window, the soft light of early morning spilling into the room. The air felt still, a contrast to the whirlwind of emotions that had been her constant companion for the last six months. She rocked her newborn son gently in her arms, his tiny fingers gripping her shirt as he nestled into her warmth. It had been six long months since Jungkook disappeared, leaving her alone to raise their child. No phone calls, no messages, not even a trace of his existence. The obsession he had towards her felt like a distant memory, swallowed by the silence he left behind. Her heart ached as she gazed at her son, his delicate features reminding her so much of the baby daddy. The same eyes, the same little nose. A part of her wanted to hate the tall brunette for leaving her like this, for making her navigate the storm of new motherhood alone. But every time she looked at their child, that resentment faded, replaced by a deeper sense of longing and love.

"You're so much like him," she whispered softly, brushing a gentle kiss across her baby's forehead. "I wonder if he would have loved you the way I do."

Her voice trembled as she spoke, her emotions running raw and deep. It wasn't just the sleepless nights or the exhaustion of caring for a newborn that weighed on her, it was the emptiness. The uncertainty. Y/N had no idea why the once desperate man, who had begged for the chance to become a father, had left. Or where he could possibly be. Her mind conjured countless scenarios, some rational, others terrifying. Had he abandoned them? Was he in danger? Was he even alive? The baby stirred in her arms, pulling her from the labyrinth of her thoughts. She smiled softly at him, despite the tears that stung the back of her eyes.

Her fingers gently stroked the soft tufts of his hair as she whispered, "You and I, we're going to be okay. Even if it's just us."

But deep down, she wasn't so sure. Raising a child alone was harder than she could have ever imagined. She had tried to remain strong, tried to push through the fog of loneliness that consumed her at night when the baby was finally asleep, and the house was silent. It was in those moments that the ache in her chest felt unbearable, like a weight she could never put down. Her phone buzzed on the table, pulling her from the quiet moment with her son. She reached over, careful not to disturb the baby, and glanced at the screen. A message from Namjoon lit up the display.

"Hey, have you heard anything yet?"

Y/N sighed heavily as she typed a quick reply, her fingers moving slower than usual. "No. Still nothing."

Namjoon had been the one constant in her life these past few months, checking in on her regularly, making sure she had everything she needed. He had even offered to help financially, but Y/N had been too proud to accept much more than moral support. At some point, she had craved Jungko0k's presence, the comforting familiarity of his arms around her. But as time passed, the humiliation and torment he had put her through began to knock some sense into her. There were moments now where she welcomed his absence, thankful for the peace it provided. To make ends meet, she had taken a job at an infamous café in the city, earning a decent income. The job had been offered by Namjoon's best friend, knowing that Y/N didn't want to rely on Namjoon for everything. It gave her some sense of independence, even though juggling work and motherhood was overwhelming.
