By the next day, the remaining Elemental Masters could be seen heading to the docks of a blimp. But many of them were keeping their distance from Skylor. Once Diana had revealed that Skylor was Chen's spy, the remaining Elemental Masters had started to keep their distance from her. Once they boarded the blimp, Sensei Garmadon and Kai both stood next Diana to make sure she wouldn't get hurt or have anymore dizzy spells from the dark influence.
It didn't take long for the blimp to take off into the sky and it started flying gently over the island with the remaining members of the Elemental Masters. Many of them started exploring the blimp or playfully challenging each other for the next fight ahead.
"What are you looking at, Zippy?" Jay playfully glared at Griffin, who returned it.
"The next one out of the Tournament," snarked Griffin.
"Uh, heh." Jay gave a nervous chuckle at that, remembering what happened to Cole and realized that his best friend's heart was won by someone else.
Diana accidentally bumped into Shade, who had flinched back and eyed her warily. "Sorry Shade." Ignoring his surprised and yet regretful gaze, she rejoined Sensei Garmadon and Kai.
"Sasha." She watched as Kai pulled out a single earpiece. "This will help you in case you get separated from us."
Diana nodded. "I understand." She lowered head, letting Kai secretly place the earpiece on her right ear. Once he was done, Diana smiled at him. "Thank you." She looked between Sensei Garmadon and Kai with a smile. "Both of you."
Mr. Pale placed a hand over an irked Skylor's shoulder, whistling flirtatious. "Do you mind?"
"Tensions are high," noted Sensei Garmadon.
Lloyd soon joined them with a worried frown and looked down from the railing. "Yeah, not as high as we are now. Can hardly see the island from up here."
"It's kind of pretty." Diana took in the sight of the island, smiling at the sight.
"I've had enough of this." Neuro looked around nervously, as if the roles were reversed today. "I can't stand heights. Where's Chen?" He opened the door to the control room, but no one's piloting it. "Ugh!"
"Great." Diana joined in, her voice with dripping sarcasm. "It's on autopilot." That's when the remaining Elemental Masters joined into the room.
That's when one of the TV screens has become active and revealed Chen on the screen. "How do I know if this thing's on? Oh, oh, oh, I see, the light. Oh, oh, I'm on? Right now? Ahem, ahem. Hello, final eight. I see you are all eager for the tournament to commence so one of you can win my Staff of Elements. Instead of fighting for a Jadeblade, today you will be fighting for something different." He soon showed a video of Nya. (Kai showed Diana pictures of his family and friends on his phone).
"Nya," spoke up Kai, concerned.
"You know her?" Skylor glanced at Kai in confusion... and probably slight jealousy.
"It's my sister," replied Kai, showing his protective side.
"We have an uninvited guest on the island," Chen said.
"And she must be holding the proof that will stop Chen." Kai's eyes glowed a fiery red, like flickering flames.
"Find her and you will automatically move on..." continued Chen.
"The spell he plans to use when he takes our Elemental Powers," Diana said angrily, glaring at Chen viciously.
"...to the final round!" Chen finished.
"He wants us all to hunt her down?" Jay looked stunned and horrified at the thought of hunting his girlfriend. "She won't stand a chance."
"Then we have to find her before anyone else does," said Lloyd.
"And I'll join you guys on the hunt," Diana said firmly. "I've forgotten what it was like to be part of a family. But Kai..." She nudged her older brotherly figure playfully. "Reminded me that being part of a family is that we protect each other. No matter what."
Kai slung his arm over Diana's shoulder with a smirk. "Definitely one of the bravest protectors that I have ever met." That earned her a playful smirk in return.
But Chen's voice ruined the moment. "In ten seconds, the bottom will drop." Everyone gasped. "But to show you I'm not a bad man, I've given you nine parachutes." Everyone, but Sensei Garmadon rushed to grab a parachute. "Sensei Garmadon is there? Shoot, that makes ten. Oh, well, I was never good at math. Heh. Toodle-oo."
"Seriously?" Diana facepalmed, exaggerated. "I'm terrible at math too. But I would have left behind an extra parachute, just in case."
At that moment, everyone started hearing a creaking sound yet again. Diana swallowed nervously and exchanged a scared glance with Neuro.
"That guy's love for trapdoors is seriously getting on my nerves!" Lloyd said angrily.
"Uh oh." Diana quickly strapped on her parachute before the craziness happened again.
The trapdoor had sent everyone falling.
"Lloyd, use your Energy Dragon!" Jay yelled to him.
Lloyd tried to, but failed. "I can't! I can't get it to work!"
Jay landed on top of Griffin's parachute. "Get your own chute, Lead Foot."
And by sheer luck, another parachute had fell near Jay's location and he caught it quickly. "I got one! I got one! Hahaha!"
"Your powers don't work because you aren't controlling your fear. Focus," Sensei Garmadon instructed his son. That's when Mr. Pale stole Lloyd's parachute. "Control your fear. Don't let it control you. Center yourself."
That's when Neuro's fear of heights had kicked in and he quickly took Kai's chute. "Whoa!" Kai struggled to keep his balance, he soon found another parachute. "There's only one parachute left."
Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon both grabbed the last one. "We'll share." Lloyd smiled at his father warmly.
"They're only built for one," said Sensei Garmadon, determined to protect his son. "This is an easy decision."
"You're right." Lloyd quickly and boldly opened the parachute for Sensei Garmadon and lets go.
"Lloyd!" exclaimed Diana, stunned at his reckless decision.
"What have you done!?" Sensei Garmadon cried out, horrified.
"Control my fear." In a dazzling bright green light, Lloyd has managed to summon a bright green bipedal Elemental Dragon and started riding on it quickly just before Lloyd could crash into the trees.
"Huh." Kai was stunned, but proud nevertheless. "He made it!"
"Haha! Of course he did!" Jay cheered.
"Good job Lloyd!" Diana beamed at Lloyd.
"Atta boy!" Sensei Garmadon exclaimed proudly.
But when they started coming in for a landing, Diana had crash landed a few miles away from the others by accident.
Diana unbuckled herself from the parachute and landed on the wet grass roughly. "Ow!" She sat up and rubbed her head. "That hurt."
But on the tree, she was surprised to see a speaker strapped onto the tree and heard Chen's voice. "Hail, combatants, I have left a few treats to help you in the hunt. I hope you use them wisely." Diana looked down to see a bow and an arrow with a frown. She scoffed at the mentioned "treats." No doubt about it, these "treats" were probably traps that'll track down the Elemental Masters.
Without another word, Diana ran away from her crash zone. She jumped over ledges, climbed rickety fallen trees, and walked single file along narrow ridges. The hours passed quickly as she navigated the many obstacles, and by the time she reached a clearing halfway up the mountain, the day was ending. Diana walked out onto a jutting edge. The sun was low, and the sky was on fire with a blazing sunset and into a calming twilight.
She jumped in place when she suddenly heard a loud buzzing sound from her earpiece and placed a finger on it to listen to one of her friends while hearing Kai's voice. "Diana. You must be careful, the rest of us have been captured."
Diana placed a finger on one of the buttons on the earpiece. "I understand. I'll keep hidden till further notice. Over and out." She soon lowered her hand from her earpiece.
As soon as the sun has set, the human girl has disappeared in a flash of light and in the girl's place was a tigress. She was too busy gazing out on the horizon far ahead, where the sun was beginning to set. All around her the sky was painted with beautiful warm colors, the clouds turning a bluish-purple in contrast. Not taking her eyes off the breathtaking sight, she let out a powerful roar for the next day.
