You've moved into the preset safe house pretty nice by the time your dad shows up. Jack says it sounds like your wings flapping when he appears, but since you can't hear that the only reason you know he's there is a slight disturbance in the air behind you.

You turn to see him standing beside you, cheeks flushed and breath heaving. Every cell inside you wants to hug him until every problem goes away, but you know better. Your hand behind your back curls around the knife that's no longer being used to cut carrots, and use your free hand to ask;

"Is a lizard an animal?"
The man closes his eyes, disappointment evident on his face as he answers, though if it's directed at his children or the grown men who originally asked this question is unclear.
"No, it's an insect."

You drop the knife as you rush at him, throwing your arms around him in a rare physical show of affection.

When you let go, you take a few steps back and examine you father, looking for any sign that he ran into danger. His clothes and hair are mussed, but he seems fine for the most part. The most shocking thing about his disheveled form is his tie, usually tied so tight it's surprising that he hasn't choked to death yet, is loose, barely hanging on.

"What happened? Who attacked?"

Your shoulders droop as you study him, trying to gauge how he'll react.

"They found us. The Winchesters."

A/N: The question Jesse asks as their way of making sure it's actually Cass comes from a podcast called You should Know. I recommend finding the CodyKo episode intitled "Podcast bro cringe" for the clip. It's absolutely hilarious, because it's two grown ass men arguing over whether or not a fish is an animal, and this question comes up. Honestly, I feel like it says a lot about our public schooling that GROWN MEN didn't know a fish was an animal. ANYway, it's hilarious to see how upset they both get, especially the one trying to tell his friend that a fish IS indeed and animal. Stay safe and know you are loved!-Rum
