XVIII - Getting Closer

Suzune was having her laundry today. She was gathering her dirty clothes so she could put them in the shop. She saw the clothes she used when she had an encounter with Kiyotaka, and that's when she remembered that he placed something in her pockets.

When she checked, there was a small paper with something written in it. It was a contact number. It's his number with a 'Text me if you are free. I am not a patient person." She rolled her eyes but giggled at the note he left. His humor was so corny.

She stopped giggling and slapped herself. Was she serious right now? Getting all giggly just after she met him once. Well. They technically know each other even before, but after 2 years of no speaking, plus her one-sided feelings for him that doesn't seem to leave her heart.

It's very awkward to just get all comfy around him. For her, at least, it was kind of embarrassing. And just the icing to the cupcake, she was now suddenly engaged to the person she doesn't know, doesn't like, doesn't love, heck. She had only talked to him once.

Remembering their 'first date' just 3 days after her father told her she was engaged. It went well. There was no harassment, no arrogant attitude, just nice. But it was formal. It did not even feel like a date. It just felt empty, no excitement, or spark was felt.

She was not being judgemental. She knew Ishigami was a good-looking guy with money and influence, plus he is a gentleman who likes her. However, that's the problem. He liked her and she didn't. Her heart and feelings belong to someone else, and it's not him.

She did not want their relationship to just get married and for him to like her, and she did not even reciprocate his feelings. Suzune sighed and stared at Kiyotaka's number.

Suzune: Do I text him or not...?

Unable to decide, she flipped a coin. If it was heads, she would text him, but if it's tails, then she would not. She flipped it and....Heads.

Suzune: Welp. It's my decision, alright.

She dialed his number and then texted him. She was shocked that he had replied so fast.

Suzune: Hello

Kiyotaka: About time you texted me, darling.

Suzune: I'm not free till now 😒

Kiyotaka: Don't roll your eyes on me or else.

Suzune: Or else?

Kiyotaka: I believe I had written that I am not a patient person.

Suzune: Sounds like a you problem, not a me problem.

Kiyotaka: Sure, darling. Don't forget that I still remember your ticklish spots.

Suzune: Try if you can. I'll be stabbing you multiple times with your arch-nemesis! 🔪

Kiyotaka: I'll just catch it.

Suzune: Idiot. Talk to yourself.

Kiyotaka: Can't take a teasing princess? Anyways, when are you free? Let's go out. My treat.

Suzune did not see the last message because she closed it and was glaring at her phone.

Suzune: Idiot.

While she was busy glaring. Kiyotaka, on the other side, was snickering and hiding his grin that was going wide by the second. Yagami was staring at him dumbfounded. His boss was smiling!? Genuinenly to top it off.

Yagami: Has he lost his mind..?

Kiyotaka: If you are going to talk shit about me, try to make it discreet.
