I Loathe You

Chapter One

Her majesty is unmarried but rules with immense power. Nothing can ever hurt the new Queen of Aureum. She is determined to make her former lover suffer for the way things ended between them. Needless to say, he chose himself over their union. She has since then never loved again and chosen to live in the burning sensation of revenge. The Golden Kingdom, Aureum, was always hers and she will do anything to protect it. Now that she is the one in power, there is no limits to her capabilities when it comes to her revenge. Her loyal subjects call her Queen Cara Cutthroat because she is as dangerous as she is beautiful. Not that the nickname bothered her. She quite enjoyed the fact that she was feared by all and respected by most. (Queen Cara): "Feared and respected. That is the way a Queen should lead. That is what my mother and father always said. They had me quite late in their years and passed from old age. It was only logical that I become Queen and be crowned as the reigning monarch of this Kingdom as I was the next in line. Standing here in the silence  and comfort of solitude on my bedroom balcony, I feel grateful to have finally reached one of my goals. It might be a great goal to achieve but I have my sights set on something greater. Michele Stone, becoming King just to choose power over what we could have had. Some might say it was a long time ago, but it feels all too familiar. I will destroy everything that he loves until he is less than a shell of a man. That way, he might have some idea of why they say that revenge is a dish best served cold. I was never meant to be delicate. If I am to be an ocean, I'll drown him in it. If I am to be a flame, I'll burn him alive. For I am Queen Cara Patricia Gold of Aureum, and I am going to make sure that he will never forget that he made the wrong choice" Surely, you might think that the Queen has lost her mind. Has she? A wise person once said Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Choosing a title for himself when they could have had one together is quite painful when you had loved that someone. Her golden-yellow eyes were brightened by the candlelight just as the wind made her hair dance to its rhythm. She was set to get her revenge and there was nothing that could stand in her way now. As previously mentioned, the Queen's parents died of old age and thus she became the newest monarch of Aureum. A kingdom she had dreamt about ruling but she had hoped to rule it alongside someone she loved. That dream died once the King chose Saxum over Aureum. He was granted the ability to become King as long as he married and was determined to produce an heir. Apparently those were his parents requirements. You might understand a bit more as to why the Queen is ever so repulsed at the mere mentioning of his name. He could have married her and become titled, but he chose differently. Over the years, she grieved in many ways. Hoping to finally wake up and no longer feel any love for the King. That was until the love inside her turned to darkness. She had every right to make him pay for his wrongdoings, and as a Queen, she could prolong the hurt for as long as she wanted. She rested and woke up with the biggest grin on her face as she knew that there was a ceremonial event at which King Michele was required to attend. The Queen had been getting used to her three ladies in waiting for a while. Lady Antoinette Westlake had black eyes, brown hair and is 21 years old. Lady Emilia Routledge had brown eyes, blonde hair and is 21 years old. Lady Hanna Henderson has blue eyes, black hair, and is 20 years old. Each of them are special in their own ways. Lady Antoinette and Emilia tend to tease Lady Hanna for being younger than them despite the fact that the age gap is only by one year. In fact, King Michele is also a year younger than Queen Cara. He has green eyes and blonde hair. His parents are not around as often so I need not mention them any time soon. (Lady Antoinette): "Your Majesty, have you decided on what dress you were to wear at the ball tonight?" (Queen Cara): "The Golden one. Obviously" They shove each other as to show that it was a stupid question to ask when the Queen I literally the monarch of the Golden Kingdom. What other colour would she be wearing other than gold? They enjoy breakfast and they go over some details and gossip. They talk about the new Chancellor who helps the Queen in legal and political matters of personal and administrative needs as he is the main advisor. Lord Harlow Marshall has copper eyes, dark brown hair and is only 36 years old. Do not let his age fool you. That man is much wiser beyond his years. Then they talk about the new Steward, that is in charge of the day to day affairs of the household for the Queen. Lord Anderson Wheeler is 39 years old, and has blue eyes with sleek back red hair. He tends to be more soft-hearted than Lord Harlow despite being only a few years older. They also speak about the Chamberlain, Mrs Alexandria Jenson who is a 45 year old widow. Yet she refuses to go back to being called a miss or madam or anything other than a Mrs. She has Hazel eyes and grey-brown hair. Although she is old enough to have been the Queen's mother, she knows better than to challenge her if she disagrees to any decisions being made. As the Chamberlain is the head of the royal household responsible for managing the Queen's court and royal affairs. (Lady Hanna): "We arranged for some appropriate refreshments given that tonight might be a bit stressful for you, your majesty" (Lady Emilia): "Lady Hanna! We are not to discuss him at all as per her majesty's request" (Queen Cara): "Ladies, we are to get to know each other better. Could we at least be at liberty to speak our minds if need be? I don't have time to waste with others who withhold information from me when it could just as easily have been communicated" That is who she is. She might hate the man with a vengeance but she encourages others to speak their minds even if it came to him.
