Chapter Fourteen

It has been a year and six months since The Bloodline had been squashed and the majesties got married. King Michele's son is one year old today and was given the title of Prince James Stone. The day he was born, another piece of the Queen died inside. That baby embodied everything she wanted nothing to do with. He not only has the exact green eyes and blonde hair like his father, but he shares blood with the woman King Michele chose over her. Whether it was for love or not, the existence of the boy proved that his betrayal grew into a baby and would continue to grow as he aged. The Queen never went to the christening even though she was invited, against Queen Laura's wishes. King Sebastian could tell that the news was hurting her even though she would never admit it. He did his best to make her smile, and remember that she was stronger than what she was telling herself. After everything she has gone through with losing her parents, hunting down people who killed innocent subjects of hers, and then murdering the leaders. The last thing she needed was to attend the christening of a baby she would rather pretend never existed. There was now an heir to the Saxum throne. This brought on the conversation of having an heir to the throne of Aureum and Sortis. King Sebastian tried cheering up the Queen with the thought of having a little prince or princess running around in the castle. They had become really close in their marriage over the last year and a half. The thought of raising a baby made her smile, but she didn't want to be doing it for the wrong reasons. It would devastate King Michele who is already responsible for a baby, and it would make Queen Cara be in a vulnerable condition. Princess Samantha Fate came to spend the day in Aureum with her brother and her new sister-in-law. Turning twenty years old in a few months had her feeling a bit more excited about life. She has too many ideas about how she wants to celebrate the milestone. King Sebastian had hoped that Queen Cara could help her narrow down some discreet ideas for her birthday celebration. (Princess Samantha): "Is it true that you and the other kingdoms really turned the former majesties into ashes for conspiring as leaders in a criminal organization that was killing innocent people by royal blood infection?" (King Sebastian): "Sammy, why bring that up now? I told you to stay out of it as it is a sensitive topic" (Queen Cara): "It is fine. She can ask about it. Yes it's true, Samantha. It was a dangerous operation and we want to look forward to the future of all our kingdoms for the better" (Princess Samantha): "I apologize for overstepping, your majesty. Can we still discuss ideas for my birthday party? My parents are too old-school and my brother would rather me have a tea party" (Queen Cara): "All that matters is that you do something that is very close to your heart and makes you smile" This was really sweet of the Queen to say. She had a soft spot for Princess Samantha. She always wanted a sister and now she had one. Princess Samantha had a bunch of ideas that could make the people of Aureum and Sortis blush. Luckily, she has a kind ear of the most powerful kingdoms monarch. Queen Cara was proud to lend a helpful hand. Despite being feared and respected, she was considering being courteous too in kindness. (Queen Cara): "I think that the idea of a party with over hundreds of people is a huge security risk. I am not saying that you should have a small tea party, but perhaps a fun dinner party with some close friends is more meaningful" (Princess Samantha): "You are right, your grace. After what happened with the crimes against royals, I need to be more careful" (King Sebastian): "Really? Why did you agree with her so easily but deny my ideas?" (Princess Samantha): "You are my big brother. I am allowed by blood relation to constantly annoy you" They laugh and hug one another. That is what the Queen always wanted. A sibling that loved her enough to annoy her or respect her opinions. The birthday plans were organized and Princess Samantha was excited for dinner time. Lord Anderson really outdid himself once again. (Princess Samantha): "So when am I getting a little niece or nephew, brother? Don't you want a baby?" (King Sebastian): "Whenever my generous Queen decides that she is ready, Sammy" (Queen Cara): "What would you be hoping for, Samantha? A boy or girl?" (Princess Samantha): "Girl! No wait, a boy! No. A girl! Oh gosh. I'm torn. I can't choose. As long as they are happy, healthy, and willing to have me as their fun aunt" (Queen Cara): "Boy or girl, they would be lucky to have you as their aunt" (Princess Samantha): "Thank you, your grace" The Queen has been thinking about having a baby since hearing that King Michele had one on the way. After dinner and saying their goodbyes to Princess Samantha, they walked up to their bed chamber to relax on the balcony. Dessert was brought to them with some champagne. They loved enjoying sunsets together. They have been intimate many times since getting to know each other better in their marriage and this made them bond even more. King Sebastian planted kisses along the Queen's neck and shoulder. Queen Cara cared deeply for him but her trust was still a work in progress. (Queen Cara): "How long have you thought about having children?" (King Sebastian): "In all honesty, I had not thought about it until we met. Cheesy. I know, but when we met, I just had this pulling feeling towards you" (Queen Cara): "I made that much of a good impression?" (King Sebastian): "Are you kidding? Of course. Seeing how you handled yourself with your ex was a turn-on. It honestly made me start falling in love" He hadn't said that before. He never through the 'L word' around before. Queen Laura pointed out that he was in love with her when she was at the first meeting with all the kingdoms. This was the first time he mentioned it. (King Sebastian): "I love you, Queen Cara Patricia Gold-Fate. I always will" (Queen Cara): "As much as it terrifies me, I love you too King Sebastian Fate" Woah. It was the first time they ever said that to each other. They both take love very seriously, so they were telling the truth. For the first time, it felt like a piece of coal fell off her Golden heart.
