The reader here is a human that was living in the Underground and he met Frisk when she fell into the Underground.

-----

It had been a while since you left the Underground, but you still found yourself visiting the barrier’s edge often. Something about the stillness of the place, with its quiet, shimmering light, always called you back. Today, you weren’t alone.

Frisk stood beside you, her eyes reflecting the soft glow of the barrier. She’d been quiet since you both arrived, hands clasped behind her back, as if deep in thought. Her short brown hair framed her face, and she wore the same striped sweater you’d seen her in so many times before. It was strange to think that such a small, quiet person had been through so much, had saved so many lives—including yours.

"Do you miss it?" you asked, breaking the silence.

Frisk turned to look at you, her eyes bright with curiosity. "Miss what?"

"The Underground. Everything down there." you clarified, gesturing toward the distant entrance to the caves. "I mean, it wasn’t easy, but there was something... special about it, right?"

She smiled softly, nodding. "Yeah, there was. It’s where I met everyone—Toriel, Sans, Papyrus... and you." She glanced down at her shoes, her voice quiet but sincere. "Even though it was hard, I think I’ll always be grateful for the time I spent there."

You looked at her, surprised by the weight of her words. Frisk wasn’t the type to say much unless she really meant it. She was always calm, even in the most dangerous situations, and that quiet strength had been one of the things you admired most about her.

"Yeah." you said, your voice softer now. "I guess I feel the same way."

For a moment, the two of you just stood there, the sounds of the outside world distant and muted. It was a peaceful kind of silence, one that felt comfortable rather than awkward.

After a while, Frisk took a step closer, her hand brushing against yours. The contact was light, almost accidental, but it made your heart skip a beat. She looked up at you, her cheeks tinged with the faintest hint of pink.

"Do you ever... think about what’s next?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

You blinked, caught off guard by the question. "What do you mean?"

"I mean... now that everything’s over. Now that we’re out here, and we don’t have to fight anymore. What do you think we should do?" She looked at you with those deep, thoughtful eyes of hers, as if genuinely curious about your answer.

You hadn’t really thought about it before, but now that she asked, the question hung in the air between you. What came next? You had escaped the Underground, saved your friends, and found peace. But what about the future?

"I guess..." you started, trying to find the right words. "I guess we just live. We move forward and try to make the best of what we have. Together."

Frisk’s eyes softened at your words, and for the first time since you arrived, she reached out and gently took your hand. Her fingers curled around yours, warm and reassuring. It wasn’t a grand gesture, but it felt significant in its own quiet way.

"Together." she repeated softly, her voice filled with a quiet determination.

The two of you stood there for a while longer, hands intertwined, as the sun began to dip below the horizon. The world outside the Underground wasn’t perfect, but standing here with Frisk, you couldn’t help but feel hopeful. Whatever the future held, you knew you wouldn’t face it alone.

Eventually, Frisk broke the silence, her voice lighter now. "You know, there’s this spot in the forest that Toriel showed me. It’s really peaceful— lots of flowers and soft grass. Want to go there with me?"

You smiled, nodding. "That sounds nice."

Frisk’s smile grew a little wider, and without another word, she gently tugged you forward, leading the way. You followed her, your hand still in hers, feeling the warmth of her presence beside you.

As you walked together, the future no longer seemed like something to worry about. With Frisk by your side, it felt like anything was possible.
