Concept: After the war, Jirou's injury leaves her with partial hearing loss and half of her original quirk. Her and Kaminari were dating way before the war started, and Kaminari wants to do his best to help Jirou feel like herself again.

(Jirou's POV)

"Jirou. Can you hear me?"

The doctor spoke softly, but my ears were ringing. My hands go up to my ears to cover them.

"I-It's too loud." I say, keeping my voice down because even my own volume was hurting my ears.

The doctor goes to adjust the prosthetic.

"Better?"

Reluctantly, I nod.

The doctor sets the prosthetic in place. It clamped onto the side of my face.

"You can keep this on all of the time. It's waterproof and shockproof. If you need to remove it, you have to come back to the doctor's office, and we can remove it for you. If you try to remove it yourself, it's gonna hurt, so I don't suggest doing that."

I went back to the dorms with my new prosthetic ear. On my way back, I realized I might've made a mistake by telling them it was okay. My ears were ringing because of all the noise. I wasn't used to it. My head was pulsing. I tried to endure it, but it was too much.

I stuck it out while all my classmates were talking to me, but their voices were pounding against my ear drums. As soon as I was alone in my room, I ripped the prosthetic off of my face. It was latched tight to my face. When I ripped it off, it took some of my skin off with it, but I needed the relief.

The silence.

As much as I hate not being able to hear like I used to, I've gotten used to the silence. Sound is painful now. Music, my first love, hurts me now.

I'm never going to be the same again.

I felt the blood running down the side of my face after I ripped the prosthetic off. I didn't feel regret. I simply put it aside and couldn't be bothered. I laid my other ear against my desk, the blood pooling on the side of my face. But I couldn't care less. Tears fell, but I wasn't crying like I usually do. The tears fell, but I didn't sob.

"---? ---!" I hear a muffled voice behind me, but I don't move.

I feel a gentle hand on my shoulder. It's Denki.

I feel him step away for a moment. He comes back with a few tissues, pressing them against the side of my face to clean the blood.

I sat there, almost emotionless. After the blood is gone, he lifts my head, forcing me to look at him. With my one ear up, I can vaguely hear him now.

"Kyo, your prosthetic." He says softly, "Did you take it out?"

I nod.

"Why?"

I sigh, "It's too loud. I couldn't take it."

He spins my chair around before wrapping his arms around me.

"Do you need to go back to the doctor?" He asks.

I shrug, "I'll go back tomorrow."

"Okay, but you should at least bandage this up in the meantime. Come on."

He takes my hand and brings me over to the bathroom to bandage me up.

Denki's been so patient with me. He takes good care of me. I've never had a hard time communicating with him, even if I can't hear.
