Naeun's face fell, and Jungkook felt a pang of sorrow as he watched the realization wash over her. “I understand,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “But it hurts so much to hear you say that.”Jungkook reached out and squeezed her hand. “I don’t want to hurt you. You deserve to focus on yourself and this baby without the weight of my presence. I will always care about you, but we both need to heal.”Naeun looked away, tears streaming down her cheeks. “I thought you would be my rock through all of this. I don’t want to be alone.”“You won’t be alone,” Jungkook assured her, his voice firm yet gentle. “Your family will be there for you. And I’ll check in, but I need to be honest. I’m in love with Lisa, and I want to build a future with her.”A silence fell between them as Naeun processed his words. Jungkook could see the pain etched on her face, and it tore at his heart.“Jungkook,” she said finally, her voice cracking, “I’ve been so scared of losing everything. But I guess I can’t hold onto something that isn’t meant to be.”“Please, take care of yourself,” Jungkook urged. “You have to focus on getting better, for your sake and for the baby.”As he stood to leave, Naeun called out to him one last time. “Promise me you’ll take care of Lisa. Don’t let my problems come between you two.”“I promise,” he replied, feeling a mixture of relief and heartache as he stepped out of the room.
