While Lisa and Jungkook were slowly rebuilding their relationship, Naeun wasn’t quite out of their lives yet. One afternoon, as Jungkook was leaving his apartment to meet Lisa, he was startled to find Naeun standing at his door."Naeun?" Jungkook asked, his brow furrowing. "What are you doing here?"Naeun gave him a sad smile, her eyes filled with something that resembled both regret and resolve. "I’m not here to cause trouble, Jungkook. I just… I wanted to talk to you one last time."Jungkook shifted uneasily. "I don’t know if that’s a good idea.""I know. But please, just hear me out," Naeun pleaded, her voice soft and filled with vulnerability.Reluctantly, Jungkook nodded and stepped aside, allowing her to come in. They sat down on the couch, the tension between them palpable."I’ve been thinking a lot about everything," Naeun began, her hands twisting nervously in her lap. "About us, about Lisa… and I realized something."Jungkook waited, unsure of what she was about to say."I was selfish," Naeun admitted, her voice wavering. "I clung to you because I was scared of being alone. I let my own fears and insecurities ruin things between you and Lisa. And for that… I’m sorry."Jungkook blinked, taken aback by her confession. "Naeun, you don’t have to apologize. We were both at fault.""No," Naeun insisted, shaking her head. "You tried to be there for me, but I took advantage of that. I didn’t respect your boundaries, and I didn’t respect Lisa. I made everything harder for you two, and I regret that."Jungkook’s expression softened. He had never heard Naeun speak with such honesty before. "It wasn’t just your fault. I should have set clearer boundaries. I shouldn’t have let things go on for as long as they did."Naeun smiled sadly. "Maybe. But I want you to know that I’m letting go. For real this time. I need to focus on myself and stop holding onto something that’s over."Jungkook felt a sense of relief wash over him. He had been worried that Naeun would continue to linger in his life, complicating things with Lisa, but hearing her say that she was ready to move on brought him a sense of closure."Thank you," he said softly. "For understanding."Naeun stood up, giving him one last look. "I hope you and Lisa find happiness. You deserve it."With that, she walked out of the apartment, leaving Jungkook feeling both lighter and sadder than he had expected. It was the end of an era, but it was also a new beginning.
