A week passed, and Jungkook finally made a decision. He called Naeun over to his apartment, knowing that he had to confront the reality of their situation. When she arrived, her face was filled with apprehension, as if she knew what was coming.“Naeun, we need to talk,” Jungkook said, his voice serious. She sat down on the couch, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. “What is it?”“I’ve been thinking a lot about everything,” Jungkook began, his heart heavy. “About you, about Lisa, about everything that’s happened. And I’ve realized that I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep trying to be everything to everyone.”Naeun’s face paled, but she nodded. “I understand.”“I’ll always care about you, Naeun,” Jungkook said gently. “But I can’t be the person you lean on anymore. I can’t be your everything. It’s not fair to you, and it’s not fair to me.”Tears welled up in Naeun’s eyes, but she didn’t argue. Deep down, she knew this was the only way forward. “I know,” she whispered. “I’ve been holding on too tightly, haven’t I?”Jungkook nodded. “You have. And so have I. But it’s time for both of us to let go.”They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of their shared history hanging between them. Finally, Naeun stood up, wiping her tears. “Thank you,” she said softly. “For everything.”Jungkook watched as she left, feeling a strange mix of sadness and relief. He knew he had made the right decision, but it didn’t make the goodbye any easier.
