i watched you eat me. slow, careful. like you were savoring every bite. you smiled, blood staining your lips. you said you loved me.
i let you. i opened myself, flesh soft, easy to tear. i wanted you to take it all, to keep me inside you, forever. it felt right. the way your teeth sunk in, the way i disappeared bit by bit.
it didn’t hurt at first. i thought love was supposed to feel like this. consuming. swallowing. you said you needed me, so i gave. i gave everything.
now i’m empty. nothing left but bones. you picked me clean.
but you’re still hungry. you always were.
i should have known. you said love, but you meant hunger. now i’m gone, and you’re still looking for more.
