The gentle wave lapped against the sides of Felix's private yacht as it sailed far from coast. Felix's heart raced but not from the thrill of the open ocean. He had a ring in his pocket and a proposal ready for Talia. This was supposed to be the happiest moment of his life.
As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, Felix went to fetch Talia, imagining the surprise on her face. But as he approached the cabin muffled voice caught his attention. Slowly he opened the door, only to find Talia and his brother, Benjamin locked in an intimate embrace. Felix froze.
" Talia, what-?"Felix voice cracked as Talia pulled away from Benjamin, her face portraying no regret, only cold indifference.
"We weren't going to tell you this way," Talia said, her voice calm, far too calm. "But you should know- I'm pregnant."
The words hit Felix like a wave crashing over him. His gaze shifted it Benjamin who smirked.
"It's not what you think," Benjamin added. "Talia loves me. And we both want what's rightfully ours - your money."
Felix staggered back, his mind reeling. All of it had been a lie Talia had never loved him, not truly. She only cared for the wealth that came with his name.
Desperation clawed at his chest but before he could gather his thoughts, Talia seized the moment. Grabbing a nearby lamp, she swung it at Felix's head. The blow sent Felix to the floor, barely conscious.
His vision blurred as Benjamin and Talia dragged him towards the deck.
"You should have seen this coming," Benjamin hissed as he and Talia heaved Felix overboard.
The cold embrace of the ocean swallowed Felix, pulling him down into depth, his world going black.
