"Where are you going?"
Felix ran a hand through his hair, his blonde strands catching the light of the setting sun. "I'm not sure yet- somewhere far away, somewhere I can start fresh. I've already hired a private detective to find the boy who saved me. I want to thank him and maybe help him, too. After that, I'll figure out where to settle down and launch the restaurant."
Jackson was silent for a while, processing everything. He knew Felix wasn't running away- this was Felix taking control of his life, leaving behind the chaos and finding something to rebuild himself with." You're serious about this," Jackson finally said. It wasn't a question- it was a realization.
Felix nodded." Yeah. I can't stay here, Jackson. There are too many memories, too many reminder of what happened. I need to find peace and I think this is the way to do it."
Jackson let out a low whistle. "Damn. You've thought this through."
"I have," Felix replied. "I'll still keep in touch. I'm not disappearing forever." He smiled again, this time with more certainity. "But I need this. I need to move on and this restaurant.... It is going to be my way forward."
Jackson reached over, clapping Felix on the shoulder, "What you're doing is the right thing but no way are you going alone. We're friends, brothers if you were not straight right now I would be dating you," Felix laughed lightly.
"Don't take that two serious it is just a suggestion ,but what I mean I want to be there for you although you lost one brother you still got me. I can't leave my brother alone. "
Felix smiled, "Well dear brother we have a long way to go and Jack thank you- for being a great friend."
The two stood together, watching the sun dip below the horizon, stretching out in front of Felix. For the first time like what felt like forever. Felix felt something other than pain and betrayal. He felt hope.
