Narrator's POV

-Flashback-

"We lost our baby, Scarlett!" Scarlett's husband shouts

"I know that. I lost him, too!" Scarlett shouts as tears form in her eyes

"I feel it! I feel it every damn day!" She shouts

"One day I felt him kicking and the next I didn't!" She screams as tears pour from her eyes

"And yet you don't see me drinkin' damn near a bottle of whiskey a day!" She shouts

"Excuse me for drowning my sorrows." He says

"I can't do this anymore." She mutters as she wipes her tears and heads to their bedroom

"What's that supposed to me, Scar?" He asks as he follows her into their bedroom

"It means exactly what I said." She says as she steps over to their closet

"We've been havin' the same fight for months. I think we should separate." She tells him as she pulls her suitcase from their shared closet

"Whoa, whoa. Hold on a minute, Honey." He says as he steps over to her

"I've been holdin' on for months. I need space." She tells him as she puts the suitcase on their bed

"I need to grieve, too." She adds as more tears fall from her eyes

"So grieve. Here, at home with your husband." He says as she unzips her suitcase

"I've tried that. And it's not workin'." She tells him

"This...isn't working anymore." She adds as she motions between them

"It's only been four months since we lost the baby. You gotta give it more time. Give us more time, Honey." He says as she pulls some shirts from the closet before laying them in her suitcase

"No, stop. Don't do this." He says as he pulls the shirts from her suitcase

"I already called my dad. I'm gonna go home for awhile." She tells him as she lays some pants in her suitcase

"What? No. Everybody knows separation is the first step to a divorce. Okay? This..." He says trailing off as he points between the two of them

"...is forever. For better or worse. We made a vow." He says as she takes her shirts from him

"It's not a divorce, D. It's just a separation." She tells him as she puts her shirts back in the suitcase

"I'm leavin' in the mornin'. It's decided." She says

"I've decided." She adds

"But I haven't!" He shouts

"I am not ready to just throw in the towel! So why're you?" He asks
