-3rd pov-
It was 5:30 am, and Kay was already awake and ready for the day, she was in the kitchen making a simple breakfast
She heard some stuffing coming towards the kitchen, she looked back and saw Alex, her hair was slightly messy and she was still in her pj's
"Why are you awake so early?" She heard Alex ask in a sleepy tone "I have morning classes today, I told you this yesterday" Kay said to her friend
Alex let out a hum and leaned against the wall "Oh right, you do" she mumbled before letting out a yawn
"You should go back to sleep," Kay said to Alex who was barely keeping herself awake
Alex yawned again, barely keeping her eyes open "Nah, I'm good. I can stay up."
She said though it was clear that she was exhausted. She attempted to push herself off the wall, but stumbled slightly, her tiredness making her balance slightly off
"You sure? You look barely alive right now" Kay said while looking at Alex with a worried expression
Alex waved her hand dismissively, attempting to brush off Kay's concern
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just need some coffee, and I'll be good to go."
She stumbled over to the coffee pot, fumbling slightly as she tried to pour a cup
"Hey, let me do it," Kay said and took the coffee pot from her friend and poured the coffee for her
Alex let out a small grumble of frustration, not liking that she couldn't do something so simple on her own
"I could've done it, you know."
She said, trying to sound annoyed but the tiredness in her voice made it sound like a pout
Kay gave her a look "You're barely functioning right now"
Alex huffed, crossing her arms and pouting slightly
"Don't mother me. I'm a full-grown adult, I can function perfectly well even when tired."
She said though the second yawn that escaped her mouth made it very unconvincing
"And you still act like a child," Kay said to Alex as she the coffee pot back on the table
Alex gave her a mock glare, though the effect was ruined by another sleepy yawn
"Hey, I do not act like a child. I'm very mature and responsible, thank you very much."
She said, sticking her tongue out at Kay playfully
Kay rolled her eyes and shook her head "Yeah okay" she said before taking a bite of the pancakes she made
Alex leaned against the countertop, sipping her coffee and watching Kay eat. She still looked tired, but the caffeine was starting to help her wake up a bit
"I still don't understand how you're already wide awake and making breakfast. You got less sleep than me."
She said, a hint of envy in her voice
Kay just shrugged "I don't know, I just feel energized today," She said before continuing to eat
Alex raised an eyebrow, eyeing Kay suspiciously
