Chapter 4 - From Aura to Death

Previously on Team Azure, Gavin introduced his latest invention, Nexus, a robot made from the databanks of the very Blue Nexus Team Azure trains in.... hence his name. Nexus could counteract any power conceivable with his Adaptation ability, it made him a force to be reckoned with as the last line of defense should Azure Tower face any more breaches. Everyone was intrigued with the idea of Nexus. 

Later in the Blue Nexus, Gavin prepared an exclusive challenge level for each and every team member to escape with their wits about them; 

A featureless cube that scrambles teleportation for Hado.

A fierce storm for Daisuke..... He escaped out of this one rather quick.

A zero gravity chamber that reflects spells for Shaldon.

A zoo with rapidly firing, heal stalling lasers on the outside for Leo.

A steel cell for Daniel that severs his connection to the Elements (this resulted in Daniel going berserk and revealing his claustrophobia trauma).

A vintage game influenced space for Valentina and Selina, complete with deadly spaceships. 

And last but not least, a group of robots with a conceptually nonexistent physiology that would counteract Trixie's Crimson Thread ability. 

Everyone made it through their own trial, except one question remained, what was Gavin's trial? 

The G Bird revealed his own exclusive challenge, the secret final boss level;

Gavin would face his own creation, Nexus. Their fight commenced and after a couple of adaptations toward his Monk abilities, Gavin conceded defeat, revealing that the true purpose of his level was to test Nexus' abilities. Sadly, Gavin should have kept his mouth shut earlier during their battle as Nexus heard Gavin explain how his Fenikkusu Tensei erases that which shouldn't exist. Taking the explanation the wrong way, Nexus impaled Gavin, and soon defeated Team Azure singlehandedly, leaving the scene afterwards. 

Daisuke took the worst of it with his wounded pride, lashing out at Gavin by insulting his intelligence, Daisuke caused Gavin to have a brief breakdown that rendered him afraid of approaching him. Soon after, Gavin regained his composure upon hearing the compliments of his comrades and was ready for round 2, this time with more crucial information, the whereabouts of Nexus.

Nexus was in Daisuke's timeline of Earth 220 where Fern's house is. For those that did not know, Fern is Gavin's dainty girlfriend. Nexus had a lot on his mind, something brought him toward Fern and he enjoyed watching her live her life by gardening. It awakened an emotion within him, an emotion Gavin never implemented into his being. Enjoying the slice of together in unison with Fern, Nexus turned over a new leaf and was now a harmless friend of Fern. 

Team Azure arrived on the scene and Daisuke was disappointed in Gavin's calculations failing once more. Team Azure left while Gavin mingled with his girlfriend, impressed with how she killed with kindness and made Nexus a less lethal threat to Team Azure. Fast forward the lover talk and Gavin decides to let Fern keep Nexus, knowing full well that Nexus will defend her until the end. And plus, it just made him happy to see Fern happy. 

A few hours after that whole ordeal, Gavin relaxed in the Court of Stars, recollecting on the events that happened so far with Nexus and Daisuke. Gavin was glad Nexus received his happy ending, yet was upset he enraged Daisuke, his cutthroat words about his inventions and calculations really etched into Gavin's mind. That whole remorseful recollection cuts abruptly as Gavin notices a subliminal message of continuously bursting arcane energy outside of New Suramar.
