The sunlight seeped into the room falling on the unconscious Taehyung who lay covered in the duvet. Soomin, the mother sat beside him muttering silent prayers for the recovery of her son. Her gaze fell on the figure standing near the bed.
"Well, isn't this quite the situation? My son is burdened with someone who can't even protect him. And of course what we can expect from you," Jungkook looked away as soon as she found the hateful gaze on her. The wife felt the weight of the words but remained silent.
"Do you honestly think you can protect him? You stumbled into his life like some kind of misfortune," Jungkook clenched her fists but chose not to respond.
"The moment you entered his world, danger followed. He was fine until you showed up," A bitter sneer played on Soomin's lips as she uttered the next words, "He deserves someone who can shield him, not someone who poses the greatest threat to his existence."
Jungkook's eyes welled up but she held back her emotions, determined not to give her mother-in-law the satisfaction of a reaction. Her fists clenched tighter. Soomin's hurtful accusations lingered in the air, the room filled with the poison of her scornful words.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Grandma entered, her presence commanding attention.
"Jungkook, my dear, come. You can bring Taehyung back." Grandma held her hands and shook her out of her misery.
Jungkook nodded and followed her.
As Jungkook followed Grandma to Taehyung's side. Grandma, with a reassuring smile, handed Jungkook a delicate flower bud.
"Place this on Taehyung's chest, my dear. Rosie said it would work."
Jungkook holding the flower bud gently, nodded in understanding. She approached Taehyung and carefully laid the bud on his chest while sitting beside him.
Grandma guided her, "Now, focus your energy. Channel your intentions for healing through the flower. It'll help bring him back."
Jungkook's heart raced. Her trembling hands hovered over the flower bud. Taking a shaky breath, Jungkook squeezed her eyes shut, her thoughts whirling with emotions. Every memory, every moment she had shared with Taehyung flashed before her closed eyes—the strength of his presence, the moments that spoke louder than words. Her heart ached and she could feel the tears threatening to spill over once more.
"Mr. Kim," she whispered, her voice breaking as she spoke his name, so intimate yet filled with desperation.
Her fingers curled slightly willing the bud to bloom under her plea.
"Please come back. We need you... I need you." Her voice faltered, the last words catching in her throat.
"Please, please." Her plea was soft but full of raw emotion, each word steeped in her deepest fears and hopes.
