Alright, whoever does the best drawing wins," Riku had said with a grin. The competitive energy had spread quickly.
Kai, as usual, had been the first to speak up.You all know I’m going to beat you. Don’t even try."
Zyran glanced up from his paper for a moment, watching Kai boast. His words were sharp, filled with that usual overconfidence, but Zyran could sense something else underneath it today—a need for attention, to prove himself. Zyran shook the thought away. He couldn’t get distracted, not now.
The challenge was on, and Zyran had a plan
He would draw Kai.
He’d never shown his true talent to anyone, always keeping his drawings hidden away. But today felt different. Something about the way Kai acted—so sure of himself, so loud—made Zyran want to show everyone that he was capable of more than they thought. Without hesitation, he began sketching Kai’s sharp jawline, the way his hair fell messily over his eyes, and the tension in his shoulders as he worked furiously on his own drawing.
Kai didn’t notice. None of them did. He was too busy with his own piece, eyes narrowed in concentration, and the rest of the group was equally absorbed in their creations. The only sound was the rustle of paper and the soft scrape of graphite on the pages
The longer Zyran worked, the more absorbed he became. He found himself paying close attention to the little things—the curve of Kai’s neck, the slight crease in his brow when he was deep in thought. Zyran had never looked at him this closely before. It was strange, almost intimate, capturing someone on paper like this. But he didn’t let that stop him. He kept drawing, each line sharper, more defined, until he had captured Kai perfectly.
Time passed quickly, the afternoon slipping away as the group pushed themselves to finish their work. The air was thick with concentration, and yet there was a strange sense of camaraderie as well, a shared passion for their art that even Kai’s rivalry couldn’t completely overshadowed
"Time’s almost up. Five more minutes Left."
Everyone gave one last push. Zyran’s heart raced in his chest, his hand moving faster now, adding the final touches to his drawing. When he was done, he stared at it for a moment, taking in the image of Kai that he had created. It was… raw. Honest. More than just a drawing of a person, it felt like a glimpse into who Kai really was beneath all that bravado.
Alright, time’s up!" Riku announced.
Everyone lifted their heads, hands falling to their sides. The room filled with chatter as the group exchanged nervous glances, wondering how their work would measure up to the others'. Zyran felt a twinge of anxiety. He wasn’t sure how Kai would react when he saw what Zyran had drawn.
Let’s see what everyone’s got,Riku said, standing up to get a better look. One by one, the group held up their drawings. Leo’s was impressive, full of energy and life. Amara’s was delicate, full of intricate details. Jaden’s and Yuu’s were both bold, capturing their unique styles. Kai held up his with a smirk, confident as always.
Then it was Zyran’s turn. Slowly, he lifted his drawing and turned it around for everyone to see. The room fell silent.
Kai blinked, staring at the image of himself on Zyran’s page. For a moment, his usual cocky expression faltered. He didn’t say anything, but the look in his eyes said it all—he was stunned. Zyran had captured something real, something vulnerable.
The others leaned in closer, murmuring in admiration. "Damn, that’s… really good," Riku said, genuinely impressed.
Zyran shifted uncomfortably, unsure of how to respond. He glanced at Kai, waiting for him to say something—anything—but Kai remained quiet, his eyes still fixed on the drawing.
Zyran swallowed hard, feeling a strange mix of satisfaction and nervousness. He had done it. He had shown them all what he was capable of. But now, as Kai looked at him with that unreadable expression, Zyran wondered if he had crossed a line.
And just like that, the bell rang, signaling the end of the session. The moment shattered as everyone packed up their things, the buzz of conversation filling the room again. But Kai didn’t say a word as he stood up, still glancing at Zyran's drawing one last time before walking out of the room without a comment.
Zyran exhaled, unsure of what was going to happen next—but knowing that whatever it was, things between him and Kai had definitely shifted.
(Heheh was he shock, suprise, disgusted or joules l don't know too l got lost for writing to much)🤍
