The hum of the bus continued as the hours dragged on, and the dim lighting created a cozy atmosphere. Just as the bus driver turned off the overhead lights, a collective sigh echoed through the aisles as students began to settle into their seats. Kai felt the bus’s motion lull him into a relaxed state, and before he knew it, his head had gently leaned against Zyran’s shoulder.

Zyran stiffened for a moment, surprised by the unexpected intimacy, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he hesitated, then carefully placed a blanket over both of them, enveloping them in warmth.

Hey,” Kai mumbled sleepily, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Mm?” Zyran replied, his voice low and soft, his attention still focused on the road ahead.

“Have you ever kissed anyone?” Kai asked suddenly, his curiosity breaking through the comfortable silence.

Zyran went quiet for a moment, the question hanging in the air. Kai lifted his head to look at him, surprised to see Zyran’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson.

“Why do you want to know?” Zyran finally managed, his voice slightly shaky.

I don’t know,” Kai admitted, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. “I guess I just want to know if it’s as amazing as people say.”

Zyran avoided Kai’s gaze, his heart racing as he struggled to formulate a response. He could feel the weight of Kai's eyes on him, searching for answers.

“Is that so?” Zyran finally replied, trying to maintain a casual tone despite the butterflies swirling in his stomach.

“I can’t hold back anymore,” Kai said suddenly, surprising both of them with his boldness.

Before Zyran could react, Kai grabbed him by the shoulders, turning him to face him. Their eyes locked, and for a heartbeat, the world outside faded away. The tension hung thick in the air, electric and charged with unspoken feelings

Then, without giving himself time to rethink it, Kai leaned in and pressed his lips against Zyran’s. The kiss was tentative at first, filled with a mix of curiosity and longing. Zyran was momentarily shocked, but he didn’t pull back; instead, he melted into the kiss, feeling a warmth spread through him that he had never experienced before.

Time seemed to freeze as they shared that fleeting moment, the chaos of the world outside forgotten. Kai felt a rush of emotions he had kept buried deep inside, and Zyran’s initial surprise quickly transformed into a soft response, reciprocating the kiss in a way that made Kai’s heart race even faster.

Finally, they broke apart, both breathless. Kai’s heart raced, and he was left speechless, his face warm with a mix of exhilaration and uncertainty. Zyran, still processing what had just happened, looked equally flustered but intrigued.

“Wow…” Zyran breathed, a small smile creeping onto his face as he looked at Kai. “I didn’t see that coming.”

“Neither did I,” Kai admitted, feeling a rush of vulnerability. “But I’ve wanted to do that for a while.”

Zyran’s eyes sparkled with a mix of surprise and something deeper, and for the first time, the rivalry between them felt like it had shifted into something new.

The bus continued its journey through the night, but for Kai and Zyran, everything felt different now. They had crossed a line, and as they leaned into each other again, they both silently acknowledged that there was no going back
