Chapter 27

After they got a good night's sleep Jaune got up first as he didn't need sleep and his spirit projected to prepare breakfast

Jaune took the ingredients from their magic satchel and started cooking

Summer woke up as her usual early routine being a mother and found Jaune in the kitchen

Summer: hey.

Jaune: hey.

Summer: why are you so silent most of the time?

Jaune: it's that your Ruby's Mother and we had a falling out recently.

Summer: trust me Jaune I know. I was there.

Jaune: I know she has made so many mistakes but so did I.

It's just hard to speak to someone who knew her personally.

Summer: I understand. But I don't hate you for calling her out Jaune. She did make mistakes and that's on her.

You are like someone I know. You tend to carry other people's mistakes for them.

Tai was the same.

Jaune: your husband?

Summer: yeah. That lovable goof ball. He blamed himself for Raven leaving but that's her fault. I know he blames himself for my supposed death but that's my fault.

If I didn't know better. You could have been my little girl's Brother in another life.

Jaune: that would be crazy.

She giggles

Summer: so what can I do to help?

Jaune: help me prepare the meat. I'll cook some rice for omurice.

Summer: omurice?

Jaune: omelette rice.

Summer: oh. A mistalian dish. Good choice for breakfast.

The two then cooks for the sleeping Fran

Fran woke up to the smell as she still had droll on her face

Jaune: now that's how a lady should be waking up.

He took a towel and wiped her face

Jaune: go wash up and get ready for breakfast Fran.

Fran: mhm.....

She stumbles to the bathroom

Summer: you'd make a good husband.

Jaune: I think I'll be a single father for life.

Summer: come on surely there is someone.

Jaune: she's gone Summer.

She apologized for her careless ness but Jaune didn't blame her

Once Fran took a bath they all sat down and  ate except for Jaune of course

After that Jaune and Fran went to the Stables to get Juniper and Jet for their next Dungeon expedition

Summer was inquiring on current events around town

After everything was set they all met up for the dungeon raid

What they don't know is that Ozpin and his Group were following their exploits from a far and gathering a force to push the Grimm out of Vacuo once and for all

A good portion of Vacuo was already cleared out especially that substantial Grimm stampede at Alessa

Teams RWBY and NR were both trying to earn Adventurers license so they can take action without too many restrictions

They joined the Alessa Guild but unlike Fran who took Donodrand Solo

It took all of team RWBY and RN to beat him and earn membership

Qrow, Winter and Raven could beat him solo

They earned their licenses and followed Jaune and Fran's adventures

Back to our Heroes

They were travelling on a road towards their next dungeon

It started to rain as they sought shelter

They found a cave formation and his there

Fran makes a fire showing that she has taken the survival instincts to hear as Jaune nods to himself

Summer removed her hood and some of her clothes and Fran too Jaune knew to keep his eyes shut and remain silent

But he heard Fran calling to him and he refused to open his eyes

Jaune: Yes Fran?

Fran: you can look now we're decent.

Jaune: it seems like you learned at least some tact from me.

Fran nods happily being praised for learning

Summer: you two are so cute.

Fran: mhm.

Jaune: you talking about me? You must be joking.

Summer noticed the severe lack of self esteem that made her motherly instincts rise back to the surface

She then pats the hilt of the sword to mimic patting a kid's head

Summer: you know Jaune you are a sweet and kind young man, a good looking one. Please don't ever look down on yourself.

Jaune: I....

Summer: don't look down on yourself.

Jaune: (sighs) alright...I will try.

She then rubs the hilt as she starts hanging their wet clothes to dry

Fran opened the magic satchel and took out her favorite curry and share with Summer

The two prepares to eat as Summer looked to Jaune

Summer: aren't you gonna join us?

Jaune: I am a Sword, I can't Eat.

Summer: just humor me.

He just accepts it and projects himself again and Fran hands him another plate of curry

Jaune: thank you Fran.

He took a bite and like he said he couldn't taste it or even have the stomach to feel satisfied

But Fran was happy eating alongside him

He looks to Summer who was smiling at him

He realized that they do look like a family and Fran was feeling like Jaune was becoming a bigger part in her life

He smiled seeing Fran happy and looks at him and smiles

It seems like Jaune's troubled soul was finally getting more relaxed

They all just enjoyed the night as Jaune took first watch

He looks up to the stars wishing that he could stay like this forever

Being with Fran

But the Future is uncertain and he doesn't know what will come from the Horizon

And he knows he was tasked to Kill Salem

His Future isn't sure after that
